This position is accountable for driving structure, organization, platform knowledge, functional analysis, solution design and quality outcomes. The Senior Manager provides leadership for platform engineers and their interaction across the entire software development lifecycle with both technical and business focus. The successful candidate can demonstrate leadership, coaching and mentoring skills combined with the flexibility of working in a dynamic, agile environment.The individual will have hands-on experience in the various suites and modules across the ServiceNow Platform functionality and its configuration to support the growing list of shared service processes. The individual is experienced in configuring and solutioning within the ServiceNow platform to achieve desired business outcomes and designing custom software extensions to support Cox Automotive business needs. This person is expected to be a subject matter expert within IT who is knowledgeable as to how ServiceNow can be configured and or extended to support existing and new business or operational processes that comply with business controls. The person must often rely on deep application and business process knowledge as well as prior implementation experience to make sound technical design decisions in order to plan and accomplish goals.Job Responsibilities- Manage platform engineers responsible for ServiceNow and Microsoft Azure platform solutions, with a majority focus on ServiceNow.- Partners with Technology Development and Architecture teams to collaborate on platform solutions and direction.- Partners with Product Owners to understand their needs and develop innovative solution options that balance timeliness, scope, complexity, and cost.- Provides guidance and assists in design efforts to modify and add new functionality to ServiceNow modules, including designing functional specifications for Interfaces, Extensions, Workflows, integrations, Conversions, and Reports.- Provides subject matter expertise in ServiceNow and is knowledgeable in one or more of the surrounding tools / technology areas including: Javascript, ReactJS, Web Services, Microservices, AWS, Azure, CICD, GraphQL, REST, MidServers, Rally, PagerDuty, New Relic, Splunk, understanding of DevOps practices.- Provides guidance in design efforts and solutioning of Microsoft Azure platform.- Performs work and partnership within an Agile development team and fosters a team mindset with all delivery team members to work towards shared goals and objectives. Understands agile software methodology and tools.- Collaborates with architecture and software engineering to evangelize best practices defined by ServiceNow, Architecture and Software Development disciplines.- Develops a deep understanding of Cox Automotive applications and their interdependencies with ServiceNow applications, customers, and business processes within the areas they support.- Collaborate and partner with Application Development, Engineering, Architecture, Product, Release Management, Agile Practitioner, and Operations leaders in a matrixed environment as needed to ensure team coordination, synergy, and successful project delivery- Communicate equally well with business owners, customers, and technology professionals.- Lead, coach, mentor and develop all reporting resources utilizing development plans, performance notes, or any other approved HR tools. Qualifications: Experience: - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related area required- 10+ years of information technology experience required - Ideal candidate would have 3+ years of experience working hands-on with the ServiceNow platform to deliver business solutions- And implementation experience with ServiceNow Suite of applications including in the following modules: - Preferred: ITOM Suite, Service Portal, Service Catalog, ITSM Suite, ITBM Suite - Desired: Asset Mgt, App Engine- 3+ years of prior management experience required with a track record of leading and growing teams - Experience operating in a scaled agile delivery framework and working in an Agile delivery model on a Scrum team is valued- Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills- Excellent soft skills such as: interpersonal, leadership, presentation, and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization- Proven ability to collaborate across integrated teams to deliver quality solutionsCompetencies: - Strong communication and interpersonal skills required- Proven track record of achieving success in a dynamic, fast-paced software development environment. - Ability to innovate new and unique approaches without guidance from others- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities, make appropriate solution decisions quickly and be co-located with their team to ensure accessibility by the team- Ability to rapidly learn new technologies- ITIL and/or DevOps background is a plus- ServiceNow Developer Certification is a plus- Experience with Rally Agile software is a plusWork Environment: - Ability to work in a "team first" mentality where teams swarm on objectives and success is determined at the team, rather than individual level- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines within specified time constraints - Ability to adapt to changes in assigned work tasks, duties and priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment- Flex Forward - a flexible approach that will evolve as we learn new ways of working together with a focus on the customer and employee experience of the future.
