Job Description :
We are seeking a full-time contractor or employee for a Senior Mainframe Application Developer role.
Contribute to the Maintenance and Operations team by supporting multiple projects across the full software development life cycle. Responsibilities include gathering requirements, coding, testing, and resolving issues related to software, data, and system functionality.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and test COBOL and JCL applications per design, accessibility, and usability standards
  • Analyze, design, and document structured programs based on user needs
  • Create and review documentation, including specifications and test cases
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues for internal and external clients
  • Ensure compliance with agency coding and documentation standards
  • Perform other tasks to support operational continuity

Required Skills:
  • Proficiency in COBOL programming
  • Experience with GoAnywhere and JCL (Job Control Language)
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and development of stored procedures
  • Hands-on experience in scripting and batch processing across both legacy and modern technologies
  • Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies, best practices, and application design principles
  • Ability to effectively test software applications using a data-driven development approach
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including experience in scheduling, testing, installing, and implementing software programs
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and maintaining computer software systems
Preferred Skills:
  • Texas Workforce Commission experience
