Responsibilities: This position plays a crucial role in enhancing Iowa Justice Data Warehouse (JDW) processes, monitoring application development status, and executing environmental modifications. The primary objective is to migrate JDW from Teradata to Google/Big Query, preparing comprehensive test plans for migration pipelines to Google.

Required Skillset:

  • 8-10 years of experience in database administration, with specialized knowledge of Teradata, ETL, and architecture.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Teradata Utilities.
  • Ability to integrate multiple system management processes and solve complex information technology system problems.

Project Description: The candidate will be responsible for developing Teradata documentation for the migration to Google Enterprise Data Warehouse. This includes serving as the primary contact for current Teradata JDW technical documentation, security, and flowcharts. The role involves assisting with migration tasks, ETL processes, reporting, and identifying areas for procedural efficiency improvements.

  • Project Objectives:
  • Support all facets of data governance and documentation required by Division of Information Technology (DoIT).
  • Assist in the migration to a new Google-based Enterprise Data Warehouse.
  • Manage Google data pipeline, ensuring technical documentation deliverables are completed for DoIT data governance.
  • Decrease costs and increase efficiency by migrating to Google/Big Query.
  • Project Deliverables:
  • Comprehensive documentation for JDW, including flowcharts, security/network details, and database information.
  • Lead migration efforts from JDW to EDW (Teradata to Google/Big Query).
  • Develop, execute, and manage current and new data processes for JDW and EDW migration efforts.
  • Modify ETL scripts for DOC prison services data, reducing data processing time.
  • MUST:
  • 8-10 years of experience with database administration, or specialized knowledge of Teradata, ETL, and architecture.
