Senior Data Architect

Role Overview

We’re looking for a Senior Data Architect to design, build, and evolve our enterprise data architecture. You’ll define how data is collected, stored, integrated, and consumed across the organization—making sure it’s scalable, secure, reliable, and future-proof.

You’ll work closely with data engineers, analytics teams, product, and business stakeholders to turn complex data needs into elegant, maintainable architectures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and own enterprise data architecture across operational, analytical, and cloud platforms

  • Define data models (conceptual, logical, physical) for warehouses, lakes, and lakehouse environments

  • Lead architecture decisions for ETL/ELT pipelines, streaming, and batch processing

  • Establish standards for data governance, quality, lineage, metadata, and master data management

  • Evaluate and recommend data technologies, tools, and platforms

  • Partner with engineering and analytics teams to ensure architectures are implemented correctly

  • Ensure architectures meet security, compliance, and performance requirements

  • Guide and mentor data engineers and junior architects

  • Translate business requirements into technical data solutions

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or data architecture roles

  • Strong expertise in data modeling, dimensional modeling, and normalization

  • Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

  • Deep knowledge of data warehousing, data lakes, and lakehouse architectures

  • Proficiency with SQL and familiarity with modern data tools (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks)

  • Experience designing scalable, high-availability data systems

  • Strong understanding of data governance, security, and privacy best practices

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with real-time or streaming architectures (Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub)

  • Background in microservices and event-driven architectures

  • Knowledge of BI and analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker)

  • Experience in regulated environments (finance, healthcare, etc.)

  • Cloud architecture or data certifications
