JOB SUMMARY

The Senior BI Business Analyst will lead requirements gathering, design, and quality assurance for Data Analytics product development and management. Additionally, the Senior BI Business Analyst will work with the Director of Product Management on both internal and external projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact to the organization and will be an expert in understanding best practices in business analysis and quality assurance

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leads IT systems /solutions analysis and verification from inception through development of Data Analytics software solutions as well as custom developed solutions, ensuring compliance with the requirements
  • Collaborates with customers and internal groups to identify and prioritize business needs and to aggregate business requirements
  • Significant experience of working on BI product development/implementation projects with specific experience of developing visualizations, dashboards and KPIs while leveraging leading industry BI solutions such as Power BI, Tableau, and/or other analytics tools
  • Participates and lead requirements sessions with all levels of business
  • Values and executes a strong software development methodology, preferably Agile, and Systems Development Life Cycle
  • Documents and builds Functional Test Plans which encompasses the business requirements specific to each application
  • Organizes and records detailed test results and provides reports on results and project status
  • Works with project teams through the design and test stages to ensure strict adherence to business requirements.
  • Logs detailed and accurate defect reports and follows the defects through to resolution and closure
  • Works within the software development group to improve the quality of project documents and systems documentation
  • Serves as a resource for the team in the resolution of complex business or technical issues
  • Ensures adherence to information technology project management methodologies
  • Plans testing execution projects and provides labor and resource estimates that meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and adhere to SDLC processes and procedures
  • Performs data analysis and develops solutions for functional defects
  • Mentors and provides quality assurance to team in adopting and executing best practices for requirements traceability, test planning, test case development, and verifying defect resolutions
  • Assists in troubleshooting, streamlining, and executing potential and/or current business challenges
  • Continues to refine analytical and quality assurance skills through staying abreast of technology industry trends.
  • Manages daily activities, independently resolve issues and communication across project team in order to deliver projects and/or assignments on-time, on-budget, and as-requested
  • Reinforces the organization's core values and behavioral expectations through modeling, communication, and coaching

  • Possess strong quality assurance skills to verify business and system requirements are met via detailed test plans, cases, and scripts, providing feedback and peer reviews of QA artifacts, including testing results
  • Hands on leading/facilitating the execution of test cases while document test results and noting any trends

  • Demonstrated expertise in performing analyst role for enterprise software product development organizations

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent education; Master's degree, preferred
  • Minimum 6 years of experience with software development required, preferably in IT consulting environment
  • 4+ years of Business Analysis experience on Data Analytics/BI products/projects leveraging Tableau, Power BI, Tableau and/or analytics tools
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of products and with Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Demonstrated ability to write transact-SQL queries
  • Demonstrated ability to interact cross-functionally at all levels internally and externally, and ability to develop relationships with vendors, customers and prospects, when appropriate
  • Ability to quickly learn and effectively leverage operations, enabling technology, processes and other assets
  • Demonstrated negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills
