Job Description: We are seeking a Lead AWS DevOps Engineer with strong technical expertise and leadership capabilities to support enterprise-level DevOps initiatives for a critical account at United Airlines. This role involves hands-on engineering, automation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of infrastructure and deployment pipelines in an AWS environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of DevOps solutions in AWS.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and QA teams to troubleshoot issues, provide solutions, and deliver on release plans.
- Guide junior DevOps engineers and promote best practices in CI/CD, monitoring, and infrastructure automation.
- Manage infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Own and support CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Conduct monitoring and diagnostics using tools like Kibana, Datadog, and Dynatrace.
- Perform production support activities and proactively address latency or performance issues.
- Contribute to automation and cloud modernization initiatives across the organization.
Mandatory Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in IT, with 5+ years in a Senior DevOps role.
- At least 7 years of experience with CI/CD tools and practices.
- Hands-on AWS experience, including provisioning and managing core services such as:
- Strong experience in Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Working knowledge of GitHub and GitHub Actions for version control and CI/CD automation.
- Monitoring and observability experience with Kibana, Datadog, or Dynatrace.
- Basic understanding of Akamai CDN and its integration.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):
- Experience in Elastic ache Redis cluster setup and monitoring.
- Disaster Recovery (DR) setup experience – Active/Active or Active/Passive.
- Familiarity with AWS services such as:
- DynamoDB
- Document DB
- Aurora DB
- Route 53
- Experience with Harness for continuous delivery
