JOB SUMMARY

Looking for an experienced Data Warehouse Developer utilizing SAP Data Services (DS/BODS) for ETL work from SAP S4 HANA to Microsoft SQL Server 2016, to help with the migration from our legacy source systems to SAP S4 HANA. The existing Microsoft SQL Server Data Warehouse (DW) will be retained and retooled. This Developer will also help/train existing staff. The DW developer should have a solid understanding of SAP Data Services Development and Administration, Data Warehouse best practices (Strict Kimball), Relational Structure, Dimensional Data Modeling, Structured Query Language (SQL) and Reporting Techniques, including data sourcing and transformation. This is an individual contributor role (contract), and takes direction from the Sr.Manager of Business Applications.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Create or modify technical specifications to meet business requirements that adhere to best practices.
Using industry accepted best practices, create Data Services Packages to extract SAP data and import into a SQL Server database. Unit test changes and Manage Deployments to minimize risk and downtime.
Note: Department SSIS Policy does not allow the use of Complex SQL Scripting or stored procedure programming for ETL.
Member of the DW/SAP implementation team.
Train/Mentor other department staff on BODS Best Practices, Administration and Performance Tuning.




JOB REQUIREMENTS


Manage Application Development projects with routine guidance
Business process analysis/determining user requirements.
Enhancement/Development of specifications (Including Kimball Bus Architecture
Enhance existing SSIS packages to use the new SAP data sources while maintaining the integrity of the DW.
Development and execution of unit test plans.
Implementation management.




SAP S4 HANA INTERGRATION


Use ETL tool such as SAP Data Services to import SAP data into the existing DW.
Work closely with the SAP/Legacy Subject Matter Experts (SME) to enhance/continue to provide a stable and accurate reporting platform for their use throughout the SAP Implementation.
Create Data Services packages that can incrementally load SAP data into the Data Warehouse.
Troubleshoot and find resolutions to problems. Be able to work through existing packages to diagnose open issues.
Document solutions for future reference.




TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS


Minimum of 5+ years of practical Data Warehousing Data Services experience.
Microsoft SQL Server 2012/2016 (T-SQL):
SSIS
