Required Skills & Qualifications
- SAFe Agile Certification: Trained and certified in SAFe Agile or equivalent Agile frameworks.
- Salesforce Product Experience: 8+ years of experience in product definition, feature and EPIC/user story creation within Salesforce environments.
- Agile Tools Proficiency: Hands-on experience with JIRA, Agile Craft, Kanban boards, and the broader Agile development methodology.
- Technical & Business Documentation: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint for documentation and collaboration.
- Telecommunications Knowledge: Familiarity with Telco products and services is a strong plus.
- Communication & Mentoring: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a talent for mentoring and guiding scrum teams.
- Requirements Management: Extensive experience in planning, facilitating, eliciting, documenting, and managing business, functional, and technical requirements.
- User Story & Sprint Facilitation: Expertise in writing user stories, conducting all sprint ceremonies, and reporting on scrum team health.
- Development Methodologies: Significant experience with both traditional Waterfall SDLC and Agile/Lean methodologies.
- Teamwork & Influence: Strong teamwork, collaboration, and influencing skills to foster a high-performing, collaborative culture.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Salesforce Technical Product Owner to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the product vision, translating business needs into actionable user stories, and working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions on the Salesforce platform. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Agile methodologies, extensive experience in product definition within Salesforce, and a proven track record of leading high-performing scrum teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Feature Decomposition & User Stories:
Break down high-level features into detailed, testable user stories with clear acceptance criteria, including any necessary reporting requirements. - Product Vision & Communication:
Understand and champion the overall product vision, ensuring alignment with customer experience goals. Clearly define the approach for the scrum team and communicate it effectively to all members. - Backlog Management & Prioritization:
Collaborate closely with UX and development teams to manage and groom the product backlog. Prioritize bug fixes, user experience enhancements, and feature updates or removals according to business needs. - Sprint Readiness:
Ensure backlog grooming is proactive, maintaining at least two sprints’ worth of groomed stories at all times to enable smooth sprint planning. - Dependency Management:
Coordinate and negotiate prioritization of dependencies with other Product Managers and teams, ensuring all inter-team commitments are met. - Sprint Review & Acceptance:
Participate in sprint demos, thoroughly review completed stories, and formally accept work that meets the Definition of Done. - Stakeholder Communication:
Provide regular, clear updates to stakeholders regarding user stories, features, and their alignment with customer and business requirements. - Agile Metrics & Continuous Improvement:
Monitor and analyze agile metrics and KPIs (e.g., POCR, progression, conversion rates). Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance team performance. - Compliance & Risk Management:
When necessary, review content and designs with Legal, analyze feedback regarding legal risks, and determine appropriate changes to ensure compliance. - End-to-End Accountability:
Take ownership of all aspects of the scrum team’s output, including user experience, technology solutions, and user story quality. - Technical Debt Management:
Understand the scope of technical debt; work with development and architecture teams to define, prioritize, and manage the technical debt backlog. - Release Management Support:
Provide input on defect criticality and production deployment considerations, supporting effective release management and issue resolution.
