This Network Engineer will need hands-on experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and implementing new equipment found at several sites around Syracuse / Onondaga / Liverpool / Camillus / Cicero, New York. This is not a network design or architect type role.This is not a network design or architect type role, this is a hands-on person who will be working at multiple sites to get into closets, etc., to install, maintain, troubleshoot equipment
Responsibilities –
Network / Platform Engineer will provide technical support and maintenance for network equipment and related
on-call, off-site maintenance, and technical support for Client’s network electronics.
The Network Engineer will assist in all bug-related fixes .
Perform firmware upgrades, break fix, troubleshooting of all network hardware and software, preventative maintenance, upkeep of IT telecom closets, cable management in closets.
Patching, and provide Client with documented reporting on open and closed activities on a weekly basis.
The Network Engineer will be available daily and dispatched either physically or virtually depending on the nature of the work.
Must Haves:
7 years of experience working as a network engineer with Cisco equipment
Installing and implementing new network solutions/equipment
Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment
Configuring firewalls, routing, and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
Maximizing network performance
Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
Excellent communication skills required.
