Job Description :

Position Summary: 

Under minimal supervision, manage the desktop/user infrastructure at MEAU.  Support end user infrastructure projects, coordinating with IT and business teams to minimize impact to the user community.  Provide back-up support for other technical team members. Management and monitoring of critical business applications, such as Enterprise Backup and VoIP, are critical components of the role. Oversee contractors and consultants who provide network support for items connected to the network (i.e. desktop computers, laptops, printers and fax, but not LAN/WAN), to ensure that the IT and business teams may successfully complete projects and business initiatives.

     

Responsibilities 

•  Responsible for Help Desk, Applications Support, and Systems Administrator functions as they relate to the day to day operation of the end user computing environment:

  • Manage Group Policy and Active Directory
  • Support, installation, and maintenance of hardware and software
  • Manage enterprise faxing, stand-alone business applications, video conferencing, webinars, security, etc.
  • Perform systems changes and patches to ensure data integrity and availability
  • Provide an effective computing environment for all users (HQ, remote office and home office)
  • Manage personal computing devices, including Blackberries and cell phones
  • Provide users security access and permissions to domains as approved by systems engineer or IT management
  • Manage and maintain voice communications through BlackBerry Server and 8x8 phone systems/call center applications.
  • Manage activities of external consultants and contractors to complete these functions.

•  Responsible for supporting capacity planning and upgrade/refresh planning with respect to above responsibilities.  Assist in the evaluation of newer technology for appropriateness and prepare recommendation for inclusion in MEAU technical infrastructure as part of normal refresh responsibility

•  Create and update procedures and documentation

•  Manage enterprise system back-ups and standard preventative maintenance for network systems

•  Configure network printers and print servers

•  Perform other complex duties as they relate to business critical applications for training    and development purposes

•  Effectively oversee day-to-day vendor relationships to maximize benefit to MEAU

•  Share responsibility, with colleagues, in providing 24x7 on call support for production systems

•  Work with project leads to develop and implement project plans

•  Ensure adherence to accepted project management practices

•  Perform other job functions as assigned

 

Supervisory / Management Responsibilities

  •       Manage daily activities of help desk support team.

 

Travel Requirements

•  up to 10% travel

 

Essential Education, Skills and Experience

 

•  Bachelor or Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent experience

  •       3-5 years Windows Desktop support

•  1-3 years of Enterprise Infrastructure support

•  Excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective relationships

•  Strong problem solving skills; ability to use all resources available to resolve issues.

•  Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, possessing the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business teams.

•  A+, Network+, MCP certification or equivalent experience

•  PC deployment, imaging, and purchasing

•  Asset Management (Licensing, Hardware Inventory, Reporting for Budgeting purposes, etc.)

•  MS Windows Server 2012+, MS Windows 7, 10

•  MS Active Directory

•  Quantum Storage and Commvault Backup Software

•  8x8 VoIP Administration
