Key Responsibilities:
- The Principal Network Engineer is responsible for designing, configuring, and maintaining functional and secure networks at Client including internal and customer infrastructure.
- This position involves working with customers and technical staff to ensure routine network maintenance and network projects are successfully executed and customer needs are met or exceeded.
- The position requires 8-10 years of experience managing network infrastructure and a strong understanding of cyber security as it relates to the energy industry.

- Oversees network architecture through performance monitoring, configuration, maintenance, and repair.
- Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN) as part of upgrade projects or new network designs/builds.
- Implement Client’s Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) on traditional Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) systems.
- Configure and install software, servers, routers, and other network devices.
- Monitor network performance and integrity; troubleshoot and repair.
- Conduct vulnerability scanning and document system vulnerabilities.
- Support ISO standardization and Quality inspections.
- Participate in continuous improvement of organizational cybersecurity posture.
- Perform forensic and remedial action on cybersecurity incidents.
- Create, oversee, and test security measures (e.g., access authentication and disaster recovery).
- Maintain complete technical documentation.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience: - Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Master’s or PhD preferred.
- Professional Certification (CCIE or Equivalent) preferred.
- 8-10 years of progressive network administration experience.
- Advanced troubleshooting capabilities in relevant IT infrastructure/architectures.
- Familiarity with access control models and network security.
- Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools.
- Solid understanding of network operating systems.
- Program or multiple-project management experience.
- Knowledge of the energy industry (oil, gas, electric, renewable).
- Strong communication skills, particularly in conveying written technical information.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
