Please note, the hiring manager is looking for an experienced Senior SQL Server DBA with strong T-SQL experience.

Role : Senior SQL Server Database Administrator
• Duration: 6+ Months : Contract
• Work Location: 98% remotely
– candidate must be located in St. Louis, MO; Columbus, OH; Jacksonville, FL or Greenville, SC. ( must be able to travel occasionally to either of these Locations )
• Start Date: ASAP
• Visas: Open to US Citizens or Green Card Holders only – due to the nature of the project

Years of experience : 12+ years Experts.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
• 5+ years of Senior SQL Server Database Administrator experience to join a DBA team supporting more than 100 servers.
• Strong TSQL skills. Able to explain and write TSQL including joins, windowing, CTE's.
• Be entirely comfortable discussing SQL Server at a detailed level.
• Experience installing and configuring SQL Server, especially SQL 2022.
• Must possesses excellent verbal/written communication skills.
• Able to discuss new install options and best practices for securing and standardizing.
• Performance tuning. Able to discuss query plans, missing indexes, use of hints, query store, scans versus seeks.
• Good experience with Availability Groups. Abel to discuss in detail how install, configuration, failover, and read only routing work.
• Practical experience with Log Shipping. Able to explain how to set it up using SQL Server built in functionality, how to failover and fail back, and a good understanding of how it works.
• Comfortable engaging with stakeholders from other teams to discover requirements and pain points.
• Understands patching, including servers using Log Shipping and Availability Groups.
