Job Description :
As the Principal data modeler you will work closely with technical architects and developers to lead the development of the physical data structures for a large scale data migration effort. You will be driving the modeling effort and responsible for creating these data structures in various database targets including Redshift and JBoss data virtualization.
Key Notes about this role.
* Data Modeling- database is structured in a certain way; the data modeler is responsible for how this structure is set up
* There are logical and physical components of data modeling that this person will need to have experience with
* The team is currently retiring an old system and setting up a new one
* This person will be responsible for making sure that the new system has all components of the old system built into the new one and is structured appropriately
* DB technology - Redshift
* Nice to haves - JBOSS, BI analytics
Primary responsibilities
* Analyze legacy Business Objects reports and Oracle data objects and structures to define data model requirements for the new data models
* Coordinate with data architects, solution architects, and developers and data engineers to understand requirements and create data model design
* Create optimal logical and physical data model designs in target data environments including Redshift and JBoss data virtualization
Required skills
* 5 years or more hands on data modeling and analysis experience
* Data modeling expertise in a data warehouse/analytics environment
* Excellent ERWin data modeler skills
* Solid SQL skills and data analysis background
* Experience designing data models for Redshift preferred
* Experience with JBoss Data Virtualization tool preferred
* Excellent ERWin data modeler skills
* Exposure to Business Objects from an administrator perspective
