Top Skills: 

•    15+ years of Oracle DBA experience working with application development teams with current experience in a multitenant environment running Oracle 19c. 

•    Expert level of knowledge and experience in data modeling and processing architectures, data dictionaries, and database schema(s), including design, develop, amend, optimize, and certify database schema design to meet system(s) requirements. 

•    Expert level experience in creating and modifying Shell scripts and packages, for performance monitoring and tuning. 

•    Experience with enterprise class applications with mission critical functionality which contain sensitive and or regulatory information such as IRS Pub 1075 and PII is highly recommended.

Detailed Job Description:  

Focus on database design and the ongoing support in the administration of Oracle and SQL databases for DCF development work for Agency programs and COTS software. The DBA will be required to lead initiatives regarding upgrades or project work for Oracle and SQL environments. The DBA should be an expert at Oracle Database management and must be able to design, develop and manipulate OLTP and OLAP databases running in a multitenant Oracle Exadata platform. The candidate will have support responsibilities for SQL databases and should have knowledge of SQL functions and tools.

This role requires interaction with a cross-functional team of technology and business professionals including infrastructure, application development, business partners, and 3rd party subject matter experts to ensure that solutions are planned, developed, deployed, and maintained in accordance with the Department of Children and Family’s security, policies, and business requirements.

The ability to maintain a collaborative team and assist with managing high priority operational work and setting expectations for projects and initiatives for the Bureau.
This role will work with partners and stakeholders to maintain a stable database platform and requires expert knowledge and experience with Oracle 19c multitenant environments on Exadata.
Expert level knowledge and experience in the use Oracle Management tools like OEM, SQL Developer, PLSQL scripting, Erwin model mart.
Expert level knowledge and experience in data migrations for Oracle and SQL platforms.
Knowledge and understanding of SQL Server 2016 and higher including a  familiarity and knowledge of SQL tools and functions like SSRS and SSIS is a plus.
The candidate will analyze and model data requirements, application and processing architectures, data dictionaries, and database schema(s), and then design, develop, amend, optimize, and certify database schema design to meet system(s) requirements.
Understand Oracle Star Schema and understand Oracle data Warehouse environments. And can implement and maintain the database designs, Create database objects (tables, indexes, etc.)
The applicant must be capable of creating Shell scripts and packages, provide recommendations for performance monitoring and tuning, understand the complexities with change management in Software Development Life Cycles, and should understand the overall DBMS implementation and knowledge that will help with formal design of new and existing databases.
The applicant should be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures and provide insight into strategic data manipulation.
Develop database level monitoring for application related issues and tune database queries to find efficiencies.
Proactively diagnose and work with application developers to resolve application SQL or Oracle performance issues using available tools.
Additional recommended knowledge, abilities, or certifications that a preferred candidate will have:

  • A working knowledge of data management tools including Erwin Model Mart, Business Objects, Informatica, and TOAD.
  • Having experience with applications used by the state of Wisconsin, such as eWiSACWIS, KIDS, and CARES is beneficial.
  • 15+ or more years DBA work experience (required)
  • BS in computer science or related engineering field (preferred)
  • Rotating 24x7 on call will be required.
