Job Title: Manager Data / ML Engineering

Our client is expanding rapidly across health providers nationwide in the US. We are looking for the Manager to lead our Data Engineering / ML Engineering team, to join our team and advance our mission of improving metabolic health and reverse chronic diseases using IoT and Machine Learning.

  The Data Engineering Manager will report to the Director of Data and serve as a member of the organization’s management team with fellow directors and managers.

Job Description:

  • Coach, lead and manage a dynamic team of Data Engineers to meet organizational objectives and grow their professional skills and capabilities.
  • Support the data architecture and data management redesign initiatives.
  • Utilize cutting edge distributed big data technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Spark, Kafka, S3 Data Lake, Parquet, ORC, Presto, Redshift, MySQL, DynamoDB and Airflow.
  • Guide the team to scale the system to perform complex processing on high-volume data feeds from a large population of diverse sensors, including data cleaning, data flattening and feature generation which can be used by downstream Machine Learning and Deep learning models..
  • Collaborate with the Data Science, Data Analytics and Product teams’ team to develop analytics and ML-driven services that serve ML predictions, generate data, Insights and recommendations based on large amounts of data.
  • Strengthen the team by working with recruiting to identify and hire excellent engineering talent.


Qualifications:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • 6+ years in Data Engineering, with 3+ years of experience leading teams.
    Deep knowledge of modern data/compute infrastructure and frameworks, such as Elasticsearch, Docker, Kubernetes, Spark, Kafka, S3 Data Lake, Parquet, ORC, Presto, Redshift, and Airflow.
  • Experience in leading teams that implement both streaming (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis) and batch (e.g., Airflow) processing pipelines like Apache Spark, Spark SQL.
    Ability to cultivate a strong sense of ownership and build a culture of accountability in your team.
  • Set technical direction, roadmaps, and guide evolution of our data systems.
    Develop, communicate, and evangelize the long-term technical vision and roadmap for data storage, ingestion and large-scale data processing in collaboration with the technical leads.
  • Domain experience in healthcare, biosensors, or related areas would be a plus, but is not required
