Position : LIMS SME ( Laboratory Information Management System )

Candidate MUST have Labworks experience.

Must Have 

Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Labworks or equivalent 

Provides hands-on support and maintenance of LIMS, LIMS COC, LIMS Monitoring, and another Lab application.

Work Description

Candidate shall be familiar with full SDLC support of the LIMS implementation. Most of the work must go thru phases of requirements, development, testing, Production and Postproduction verification. Support would be needed on 24X7 basis thru out the year. Candidate shall be able to monitor the system for continuous production use, take appropriate action in case of alerts and emails notification and resolve the situation in a timely manner with a minimum impact on the operations.

Currently there is need to support the operation ongoing basis. Candidate must learn the standard operating procedures, process, and line of business. CLIENT would also like to automate the current Labworks system in future and support would be required. Candidate shall maintain the current system, attend meetings, handle day to day operation issues, perform hands on work in Lab. Candidate shall support for weekend upgrade and patching events.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: 

  • Knowledge of one or more LOB areas such as Production, infrastructure maintenance, maintenance and work management, etc. 
  • Diverse knowledge of and experience with any of programming languages, including Web Focus, .NET, JAVA/J2EE, UNIX and SQL. 
  • Diverse knowledge of and experience with any of scripting languages, including Java Script, .NET, Visual Basic, Excel M. 
  • Ability to use proven requirement gathering techniques that enable the identification of accurate and well-defined business requirements. 
  • Ability to conduct business analysis, data analysis, workflow or Process flow analysis and fit-gap analysis. 
  • Ability to work well with people from different areas of Lab (Organic, Micro, Physical Chemistry etc.) with varying degrees of technical experience draw using Visio or Blueprint. ..
  • Ability to prioritize different activities / assigned initiatives and complete within resource constraints. 
  • Excellent organizational, time management and negotiation skills. 
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills, communication, and presentation skills. 
  • Understanding of any Front-End programming languages, including.NET, HTML, JSP etc. 
  • Understanding of relational databases, such as IDMS, SQL Server, and Oracle for data analysis 
  • Familiarity with COTS implementations and risk mitigation strategies to implement COTS. 
  • Ability to understand the agendas of other functions, groups and business units within CLIENT and to integrate that understanding into the decision-making process of the team. 
  • Maintain and update the documents as assigned. 
  • Experience integrating applications with other solutions through middleware (WebLogic, WebSphere etc.) using best practices. ..
  • Knowledge of Laboratory Information Management Systems (e.g. Labworks or Labware or similar systems etc.), Laboratory processes, SOP, Instruments, Instrument configuration and interfaces etc. 
  • Knowledge of Laboratory Monitoring systems such as Rees, Laboratory Printers/Scanners, NWA etc. 
  • Good Knowledge of functioning of SCADA, HMI or Wonderware systems. 
  • Integration of various data sources into the centralized location for reporting, auditing and charting features 
  • Outstanding skills in oral and written communication, as well as an ability to deal effectively with internal and external teams.

  • Develops requirements and distributes and modifies routine and ad-hoc reports. ..
  • Provides hands-on support and maintenance of LIMS, LIMS COC, LIMS Monitoring, and another Lab application. ..
  • Delivers functional and business analysis for the enhancement of Commission's Legacy LOB applications. ..
  • Supports application enhancements/retirement planning activities related to hardware or software. ..
  • Assists with the functional configuration tasks and activities for software implementation projects. ..
  • Works as the Functional Lead(s), collaborates with area subject matter experts to discover, define, assess, and document business needs and requirements. ..
  • Supports the CLIENT in-house software development and COTS implementation to include determining user requirements and desired outputs and migration to the next generation development tool and technology. ..
  • Performs all aspects of Maintenance Management System (MMS) and related applications support and operations, including plans, designs, implementation, upgrade, support, and maintenance functions. ..
  • Analyze, resolve, and solve issues encountered in the design and implementation of solutions. ..
  • Address specific issues that may arise during an MMS system update/upgrade as well as provides support of MMS applications in the production environment. ..
  • Perform data analysis and integration of applications. ..
  • Ensures that projects follow specific project plans and timelines; delivers status reports, issues log and generates appropriate documentation and templates. ..
  • Ensures that all project meet quality and incident resolution. ..
  • Maintains and tracks business service level agreements, standards, and operating procedures ..
  • Implementing and maintaining accurate configuration management records. ..
  • Performs the tracking and maintenance of data integration, ETL, and Data Warehouses applications. ..
  • Working knowledge of relational databases, such as IDMS, SQL Server, and Oracle and able to query the database. ..
  • Performs general user account/access management. ..
  • Participate in Disaster recovery planning and implementation as business demand ..
  • Excellent analytical skills and understanding in both problem-solving and research and ability to interpret and report findings.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor's degree. ..
  • 5 years of professional IT experience that includes one or more of the following areas:

o Business analysis, process design, process workflows and applications development/support with strong emphasis on end user satisfaction. ..

  • Developing requirements and supporting LOB applications.

o Supporting one or more of the following types of systems: Lab operations, Plant management.

o System testing (manual or automated). ..

  • Experience in the SDLC methodologies and best practices. ..
  • Experience reviewing architectural structures, identification of architectural issues and demonstrated ability to perform analysis and make recommendations to improve application process design.
