BA Role Description: In Depth:
Strong BA with at least 5 years of experience. I’m looking for a breadth of experience and skills through whole range of BA skills. This will be from business side experience to technical work on the data side and technical work with App Dev developers.
Looking for both strong BA experience and strong soft skills. Someone with breadth of skills to handle both business issues as well as building and maintaining working relationships with the project and business team. looking for experiences dealing with all types of folks and a strong ability to deal with any kind of people issues. I will support the BA in any of the challenges they get into. But, I want to see candidates who have been through difficult projects. This is not a difficult project, but future projects I put you on, may be difficult. I want to make sure you can handle them. There are going to be challenges working with constrained business resources as well.
Strong team experience. I have a team in place and want someone who can smoothly be added to the team and contribute. We have strong leadership on the project already, so though I want strong BA’s, I want people who can take direction from others. We are a team, working as a team, everyone’s voice should be heard. At the end of the day, when decisions are made, we need people who can follow those decisions and that direction even if they don’t agree with it. We won’t have time for the drama associated with second guessing decisions. We need to all work together as a team.
Skills required:
3+ years Financial Services Experience is a big bonus. This is what we do, so if you don’t have the background, you will be expected to pick it up. Having said that, I value a strong BA and those BA skills over domain knowledge. This is why it’s a bonus and not a requirement.
Elicitation skills to work with Business 1:1 or leading teams of business to capture insight and requirements. You are going to be working with lots of different business groups, some individuals, and some groups. You will need to be able to handle that. Will need to be able to drive the User Interface discussions and the User Experience.
Excellent leadership and business acumen is desired. Leadership is more driving the business and working with the business.
Great Technical BA skills too, ability to talk to developers and work with technical BA’s. Can understand technical requirements.
Strong analysis skills – There is much to understand and determine from the ruling. We will provide the direction and response to the ruling. BA will work with Business Leadership to capture ideas on next steps and how to respond.
Handles ambiguity well. Lots of unknowns about this going in. We will figure it out as we go. Need to be flexible and adaptable as more decisions made and more information uncovered.
Ability to follow established BA process
Own and drive UAT for work streams within the program.
