This role will be a remote, however, the manager wants someone located on the East Coast.
This is a Senior level role – so would require a write-up from the candidates as to how they are a fit for this role.

Job Description: DevOps Cloud Engineer
The Cloud Automation Engineer is responsible for managing design and engineering activities related to cloud initiatives and the DevOps suite of tools used to deploy applications to the cloud.

Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for designing, building, and supporting advanced cloud automation workflows and tools used to support automated CI/CD pipeline application deployments into AWS using Jenkins, Artifactory, Puppet, Packer and Terraform.
Responsible for designing and implementing enterprise-wide layered cloud image management and deployment optimization system with support for public/private software repositories.
Design, development, and support of automation modules using Puppet Enterprise integrated with enterprise metadata.
Adhere to the process and security standards when building application infrastructure in AWS.
Serve as enforcer for DevOps practices to prevent “technical drift”.
Maintain key service level agreements.
Onboarding of new applications into standardized release pipeline.
Work closely and collaborate with technical peers, business operations and enterprise testing teams.
Provide guidance and direction to App Dev teams in regard to DevOps processes and technical/pipeline standards.
Participate in team wide Change Management process as both implementer and verifier ensuring changes are completed efficiently and correctly.
Keeper and enforcer of the technical and tools standards.
Participate in security reviews for application security groups.

Must have Skills
Minimum 4 - 5 years’ experience with DevOps practices and automation tooling (MUST)
Experience with Terraform or Cloud Formation scripting (MUST)
Puppet Development experience (MUST)
Experience with DevOps orchestration tools such as Jenkins (MUST)
Experience with AWS cloud services (MUST)
Experience with managed container services (ECS, EKS, and Fargate) is a plus
Experience with Thick AMIs (Amazon Machine Images) (MUST)
Familiarity with Packer
Understanding of application code and build scripts (MUST)
Strong understanding of infrastructure components and how they are architected in AWS (MUST)
Must be able to multi-task and work well with changing priorities in a fast paced, 24x7 environment
Experience with public cloud migrations/transformations (MUST)
Must be highly collaborative and be able to work in a team environment, with technical and businesspeople.
Experience with java, python, .Net scripting (MUST)
Excellent communication, problem solving and customer service skills with the ability to translate technical detail into non-technical information
A strong ability to learn new technologies
Strong ability to coordinate activities in a coordinated and highly visible manner

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or workforce equivalent Technical certifications preferred.
