Responsibilities:
 
The DEC ETD BA Exec team is located in Jersey City and is part of a global organization with entities in Europe and Asia.
 
The functional scope covers both US Equity Options and Listed derivatives from the execution to Post Trade Allocation. The team interacts daily with Business (sales, Products, traders) and support functions (IT Business Analysts, Operation and Application Support).
The Front Office Business Analyst (BA) joining the team will take part of ongoing initiatives identified to support business growth. The BA will lead all aspects of the project life cycle:
 
  • BA will be responsible to formalize functional requirements for internal or external/vendor development teams.
  • BA will be responsible to test and validate new functionalities (nit + Non reg testing) and obtain sign off from Stakeholders.
  • BA will be responsible to coordinate all aspects of the deliveries (dev, follow up of deployment procedures…) big or small.
  • BA will lead meetings or workshops with our internal or external partners.
  • BA will be involved in post go live validation & Warranty period as level 3 support.
  • BA will play a role in US team's growth.
 
The ideal BA has a strong knowledge of Listed Derivatives with proven Business Analyst track record, is a good Team player in a global organization and is shows proactivity. The BA shows synthetic and clear mindset.
 
 
Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5+ years in IT Finance industry as Front office Business Analyst with some QA experience.
  • Knowledge of US Equity Option and Derivatives markets.
  • Knowledgeable of OMS/EMS functionalities and corresponding order execution workflows.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and proficiency for detailed documentation.
  • Knowledge of FIX protocol.
  • Knowledge of Front office Trade life cycle is mandatory.
  • Experience writing use cases that encapsulate all functionality from a requirements document.
  • Experience designing architecture diagrams for end-to-end current/future business workflows suitable for a business and technical audience.
  • Functional testing of IT deliveries using a test environment.
  • Detail-oriented approach with problem solving mind-set and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to effectively challenge and apply professional skepticism with the goal of providing strategic solutions.
  • Ensure proper and adequate aftercare and follow-up to remediate any unforeseen issues.
  • Manage issues and escalate effectively.
  • Ensure on-time quality delivery of projects and tasks assigned.
 
   Preferred Qualifications:
  • FIX Onboarding experience preferred.
  • Understanding the trade flow in Fidessa and providing functional support to the desk.
  • The role includes documenting all issues and working to escalate as needed.
  • Agency trading business knowledge is preferred.
  • Experience working on projects involving Fidessa and/or ULLINK is preferred.
  • Experience working on the Post-trade allocation tool TEO is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Middle and Back-office workflows is preferred.
  • Technical experience is preferred for identifying and raising bugs.
  • Be accountable, i.e., taking full ownership of their allocated tasks.
  • Solid work ethic and high levels of motivation
  • Pro-active in general, taking own initiatives to prevent risks/issues.
  • Ability to work well under pressure
