The Release Train Engineer's (RTE) main purpose is to steer an Agile Release Train (ART) into success.
The RTE coaches the team of teams as an uber scrum master and helps addressing impediments (resolving or escalating), manages risk, collaborates with Product Managers to ensure delivery of value and encourages continuous improvement.
An RTE:
Facilitates and leads preparation of the PI Planning.
Manages changes to the Plan to adapt to contingencies and changes in priorities.
Leads the scrum of scrums meetings to ensure constant alignment between agile teams from the ART and address impediments and interdepencies.
Helps teams in communication and coordination with stakeholders and domain experts during feature grooming, readiness and delivery.
Is an advocate in adopting Agile and SAFe recommended practices on a program and team level.
Experience required:
At least 5 years as Scrum Master.
Desirable to have experience as RTE for long lived ARTs in a financial institution.
At least high level technical knowledge to understand and explain technical and project related information to vendors and stakeholders.
Effective communication skills. English is a must. Spanish also recommended.
Ability to easily build new relationships across the organization.
