Job Description :

The QA Testing Project Manager – Lead position is responsible for all phases of testing to ensure performance, accuracy, and functionality of software development and infrastructure.
QA Testing Project Manager - Lead will provide guidance and support on large, highly complex projects to technical and business unit staff while directing the design, writing, and execution of quality assurance plans for new and modified application software.
QA Testing Project Manager - Lead will interact with software development staff to direct and coordinate the implementation of defined quality practices and procedures and will gather pertinent information to build (or oversee the building of) test cases and plans that will ensure that all software development meets design specifications, company standards, and end-user requirements.
QA Testing Project Manager - Lead will lead the development and implementation of user acceptance testing process that involves clients and client representatives which results in project signoff, signifying completion. QA Testing Project Manager - Lead will communicate testing status to Technical Project Managers regarding testing deliverables, metrics reporting, and problem determination/resolution.
Responsibilities:
Project Management – 75%
• Interact with project team to direct and coordinate the implementation of quality practices and procedures, as set forth in governance policies and practices, and gather pertinent information to build (or oversee the building of) test strategy, test plans, and test cases that will ensure all software development meets design specifications, company standards, and end-user requirements.
• Ensure the testing service methodology is used appropriately in all projects and releases, which may require elicitation and cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, IS and Business Units, clients, and other departments
• Facilitate pre-tasking activities with clients and vendors and lead team to deliver common goals.
• Liaise with both Program and Technical Project Managers to understand the project milestones and plan the testing effort and strategy required for each application/project based on the development approach and timeline.
• Identify and coordinate all non-Information Services testing that impacts or interacts with other testing efforts.
• Participate in peer reviews and conduct assessments (e.g. review and approval of system requirements and test specifications)
• Manage project and release interdependencies to reduce resource/environment constraints and ensure that Project Managers are fully informed of testing issues and options.
• Obtain required approvals from project testing teams and stakeholders related to quality control planning, execution, and product/deliverable implementation.
• Elevate issues to senior management, as appropriate.
• Devise project plan strategies and/or contingencies to address missed or compromised timelines.
• Uses and applies specialized principles/concepts and techniques. Accountable for delivering results. Addresses differing and variable situations. Higher level of autonomy. Carries out more complex tasks independently. May provide direction to others.
Test Competency and Development – 15%
• Oversee testing phases using a matrix-managed approach; this includes Unit, Integration, System, UAT, Performance Testing, and any necessary Compliance testing.
• Deliver effective test management procedures and processes during the test delivery lifecycle
• Provide expertise on Software Quality Assurance to the application development, support and maintenance teams.
• Advise on and implement new methods, tools, and/or quality assurance processes
• Suggest test process improvements based on incident trends
• Perform all quality activities as required
Reporting – 10%
• Monitor and control tests being performed on all projects
• Produce test reports on progress against time and quality; defects and severity; distribution and priority rating; impact assessments; trends over the project etc.
• Report on overall project tracking, testing governance and health checks.
Report on, measure and monitor progress using established processes to ensure that the testing phases are delivered on time, within budget and to an agreed level of quality.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 10 years of working experience with at least 5 years managing large complex business systems in enterprise testing domain
• 5 – 7 years of working experience in project and time management in managing large, complex test programs that are delivered on-time and within budget
• Seen as a technical leader. Highest level of individual contributor. May provide consult/guidance to lower levels.
• Wide variety of experience in software delivery and environment specification (client server, web, infrastructure, etc.), comprising the full end-to-end test life cycle
• Proven experience in leading/coaching, multi-disciplined testing teams, including virtual employees, contractors, and testing partners /vendors
• Experience in working with diverse key stakeholder groups and managing stakeholder expectations and proven ability in developing and using collaborative relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of business goals.
• Solid work experience with MS-Office, MS-Project, and MS Visio, and knowledge of unified functional testing components
• Strong organizational/industry knowledge
• Well-developed skills in working with diverse stakeholders and managing expectations
• Ability to influence others, at all levels
• Ability to shift priorities, project demands and timelines, as needed
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree
Knowledge & Additional Skills
• Solid understanding of SDLC and Quality Assurance concepts, metrics analysis, methodologies, and documentation standards
• SAFe and JIRA experience is essential
• SQA Certification preferred
• Is extremely organized and can coordinate necessary tasks to complete testing
• Can work independently and handle multiple priorities simultaneously
• Ability to coordinate with large group of diverse resources
• Can work closely with technical partners to achieve System Integration Testing
• Possesses solid analytical skills for complex problem solving
• Possesses strong project management/coordination skills
• Exhibits solid communication skills, both written and verbal
