The Senior Manual Test Engineer must be knowledgeable and experienced as a Quality Assurance Test Engineer for testing web-based and desktop applications, software engineering practices, quality assurance standards, interpretation of product requirements, test plan development, test case development, and testing of software functionality, and usability (508 compliance experience a plus
Responsibilities:

li>Test plan and test case development/li>
li>Manual and automated testing of software functionality, installation, and regression/li>
li>Bug management and error tracking/li>
li>Test report documentation/li>
li>Coordination and prioritization of testing activities and the ability to work with multiple development teams and software projects are also critical for the selected candidate./li>

Required Qualifications:
ul>
li>5 years of structured software quality assurance engineering experience is required. Hands-on experience with creation of test plans, development and execution of test cases and reporting and dissemination of test results is a must/li>
li>Experience with Quality Assurance practices and Testing Methodologies/li>
li>Test Plan and Test Case Development based on software engineering documentation (testing based on product requirements)/li>
li>Experience with executing functional, usability, and deployment testing. Experience with formal testing of complex server-based software systems/li>
li>Multi-tier computing environments including load balanced application (middleware) servers supported by back end database servers/li>
li>Test execution experience in .NET/C# environment/li>
li>Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and SQL scripting/li>
li>FAST/li>
li>Experience with reporting of test results/li>
li>Experience with commercial bug management systems/li>
li>Operating system management experience with Windows Server 2012/li>
li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tool suite (including Visio)/li>
li>Demonstrated Documentation and Reporting experience/li>
li>Experience testing in an agile development environment/li>
li>Excellent analytical and problem determination skills/li>
li>Basic understanding of program interfaces, services, database, messaging, files systems, and other program objects/li>
li>Candidate must have the ability to independently troubleshoot software issues/li>
li>Successful candidate is subject to a background investigation by the government and must be able to meet the requirements to hold a position of public trust/li>

Preferred Qualifications:
ul>
li>Bachelor’s degree preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering, similar discipline/li>
li>Experience with automated testing applications similar to Visual Studio or Rational Functional Tester/li>
li>Experience testing products developed within the Pega framework Document management system experience/li>
li>Production software development experience with 2-3 structured Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft C# and ASP.NET, Web Services and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)n experience/li>
li>Cross-browser DHTML web design and testing/li>
li>Experience with the compliance requirements of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act for web applications design/li>
li>Experience with source control management software, such as TortoiseSVN/Subversion/li>
li>Working background in GIS technologies such as ESRI including ArcSDE, ArcIMS, ArcGIS/li>
li>Scripting Proficiency (i.e. Cygwin, Dos, Bash, Perl, Python, and/or VBscript)/li>
li>Experience with the compliance requirements of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act for web applications design/li>

*Experience gained while working part-time does not count. Many candidates list experience on their resume of jobs they worked part-time while attending university - this does not count! Only experience gained while working full-time hours (40 hours per week) counts.
