Duration: 6 months with possible extension
Visa: USC, GC

Additional Information:

  • Candidate MUST have at least 7-9 years of total IT experience*
  • Local candidates are strongly preferred.
  • Candidates outside Michigan will need to relocate.
  • Candidates with any government experience or Airlines experience are highly desired.

Project Scope:

The Technology Services (TS) department of the Wayne County Airport Authority is responsible for providing and managing the Airport Authority's technology needs for both Detroit Metro and Willow Run airports. Technology Services is seeking a local qualified Project Manager to work 40 hours/week, full-time on-site at the airport. TS Project Managers plan, organize, and implement technical projects for the organization. This may include coordination of production releases and rollouts, delegation of tasks to the necessary employees and presenting on project progress and results.

Mandatory Skills:

  1. Candidate must be able to work at the airport.
  2. Six (6) years of experience as a Project Manager.
  3. Four (4) years of experience managing complex technology projects that spread across multiple departments or stakeholders.
  4. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  5. Proven ability to manage simultaneous projects.
  6. Proven ability to deliver a completed project on-time and on-budget.
  7. Proven knowledge of technology platforms, infrastructure, and application development.
  8. Proficient in a variety of Project Management methodologies.
  9. Proficient in using Project Management Tools.

Desirable Skills:

        1. Experience with project management in the public sector.
        2. Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
