Job Title: Market Risk Production Support Developer
Location: New York City (Hybrid: 2–3 days/week onsite)
Contract Type: 6-month contract (with likely extension and potential conversion to full-time)

Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Market Risk Production Support Developer to join a leading foreign bank’s technology team in New York City. This hybrid role is ideal for experienced IT professionals with a strong background in SQL Server, SSIS, and Python—especially those with exposure to Market Risk concepts like VaR and PnL calculations.
The role will focus primarily on Production Support (70%), with the remainder dedicated to Development, bug fixing, and system enhancement (30%) for a critical Risk Technology Platform used for large-scale batch processing in a financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day production support for mission-critical batch processes and applications.
- Monitor systems, investigate issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive timely incident resolution.
- Collaborate with development teams to implement enhancements and fixes that improve system performance and reliability.
- Maintain and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions in Microsoft SQL Server.
- Support and migrate ETL workflows built in SSIS (.NET/C#) to Databricks and Python.
- Utilize job schedulers like Tidal (or similar tools) for managing large-scale batch workflows.
- Use tools such as Jira and other issue tracking systems for coordination and incident logging.
- Interpret and work with Market Risk metrics, including Value at Risk (VaR) and Profit & Loss (PnL) calculations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with risk, finance, and IT teams to ensure data integrity and timely delivery of risk reports.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT system development and support within a financial or banking environment.
- Proficiency in:
- Microsoft SQL Server (complex queries, stored procedures, performance tuning)
- ETL tools (SSIS, C#/.NET)
- Python (especially using NumPy and Pandas)
- Databricks (preferred)
- Experience with batch job scheduling tools (e.g., Tidal or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of Market Risk, with ability to interpret VaR and PnL metrics.
- Familiarity with Jira and incident management tools.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Fixed Income and Securitization products.
- Exposure to cloud-based data processing (e.g., Databricks on Azure or AWS).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
