This is a Principal Engineer position within the Optum Technology supporting Payer business. This business provides software products and services to various health care payers to ensure that payments are being made accurately - saving billions of dollars for these payers. Payer business has shown tremendous growth over the last few years necessitating us to grow the team and add this new position

Primary Responsibilities:
- Candidate should be able to drive modern technical architecture, design and best practices to development teams delivering RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud-based solutions
- Mentor and develop teams focused on modernization, enablement, and engineering culture
- Create working proof of concepts to accelerate, validate formalize solutions, design and technology
- Bring innovative ideas to help continuously improve the application portfolio including the design, build, deploy, test and runtime within cloud ecosystems
- Drive engineering culture among the project teams using best in class automation, CI/CD and modern software principles
- Able to solve simple to complex issues independently or with minimal support from SMEs?
- Ability to prioritize and manage work to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lead through and influence in a large, matrixed, global environment.
- Build reusable patterns and components for development teams to use

Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience
- Extensive experience deploying public and hybrid Cloud based solutions
- Experience in building data pipelines
- Experience with legacy modernization
Preferred Qualifications:
- Azure Public cloud platforms, solutions, automation, and design experience
- Experience with Azure data factory, Azure Data bricks, Azure event hubs and Azure service bus
- Distributed system architecture
- Systems security experience
- Exposure to healthcare domain

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado/Connecticut/Nevada residents is $110,200 to $211,700.
