Job Description
The PowerBI Developer will be responsible for designing and developing PowerBI reports, establishing connectivity to databases for reporting, writing efficient SQL queries from a database, and tuning the performance of the reports.
RESPONSIBILITIES: (Generally this should be 4-6 key accountabilities; should include work performed, decision-making authority & supervisory responsibilities)
Working with Business Analysts and customers to understand the requirements for reports.
Designing, developing, and testing PowerBI report solutions that satisfy requirements.
Connecting to a SQL Server data warehouse, Dynamics 365, and/or Salesforce with PowerBI.
Writing SQL queries and procedures in T-SQL to provide data for reports.
Setting up data sets for PowerBI reports.
Tuning the queries, datasets, and reports for maximum performance.
Publishing reports to PowerBI Premium.
Participating in training end users.
Providing support for PowerBI reports.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE: (Generally this should be 4-6 requirements at most; should include education and training required (Minimum academic, commercial, and technical qualifications needed for performing duties of job), years of experience (Minimum previous experience required for performing duties of job. Indicate number of years in a management role where applicable), and other requirements.)
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Informatics, Information Technology or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in developing PowerBI reports with an overall related experience of 10 years.
Understanding of tuning of PowerBI reports, data sets and SQL to deliver maximum report performance.
Knowledge of methods in which to best present data for management decision-making.
Must be able to build and maintain a positive relationship with vendors and internal suppliers and customers.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and uphold Fullstack engineering best practices
Collaborate with designers & product managers to iterate on the design & implementation of our product
Work with Engineers from our consumers to build and ship features
Design a framework for creating services that grows with the needs of the company
Monitor performance, watch for traffic drops related to usability problems & rectify the issues
Review app and feature code, and plan future API upgrades with the development team
Assist in the development of applications & features that will be put on the website, mobile app, and external client apps
Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies
