Physical Mock-Up Lead Engineering Support (PMU LE)

Responsibilities:
  • Tender and Scope Definition:
    • Contribute to tender phase activities related to the physical mock-up scope, identifying requirements, deliverables, and key milestones.
    • Define mock-up objectives and the level of representation required ("just enough" approach) to support validation and customer approval.
  • Physical Verification Planning:
    • Consolidate the physical verification plan and identify necessary verification configurations.
    • Formalize specifications and ensure alignment with overall project and engineering verification strategies.
  • Mock-Up Development and Management:
    • Lead the development, realization, and acceptance of physical mock-ups in coordination with suppliers and project stakeholders.
    • Monitor progress, manage technical risks, and ensure timely delivery of all mock-up stages.
    • Conduct technical reviews and acceptance testing of mock-ups with suppliers and customers.
  • Validation and Issue Resolution:
    • Validate design concepts through the mock-up process and ensure findings are accurately documented and addressed.
    • Escalate design or integration issues to the project team and support their resolution.
    • Promote design improvements and feedback integration into final engineering solutions.
Competencies & Skills:
Technical:
  • Proven understanding of product development and validation processes, ideally in rail or complex system engineering.
  • Experience in prototype, mock-up, or model management.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Familiarity with design documentation and verification processes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Customer-oriented mindset with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
  • Proactive problem-solving and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Fluent in English (B2 level minimum) - both written and spoken, including technical discussions.
Qualifications:
  • A degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Automobile, Production or Systems Engineering) with min 6+ years
  • Experience coordinating with suppliers, managing deliverables, and leading design reviews.
  • Familiarity with design and visualization tools (e.g., CATIA, 3DEXPERIENCE, or equivalent) and standard office tools (MS Office suite).
  • Knowledge of configuration management and requirements traceability is a plus
  • Experience in railway systems engineering
  • Strong communication skills, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to work in cross-functional teams
