Job Description:
We are seeking a Performance Management Engineer that will grow and evolve our proactive network monitoring and surveillance. This individual will possess strong network engineering, network management, and system administration skills to support Network Management Tool such as CA Spectrum, SolarWinds, Aruba Airwave, Cisco Prime. An in-depth understanding of network communication is required. Familiarity with configuring network devices (Cisco, Palo Alto and Aruba) is a plus.
This role requires someone with deep and proven technical expertise. It requires someone with the ability to work and communicate in a team environment and deal with complex technologies and concepts. It will also require you to work with the team in an educational capacity.

Responsibilities:
Administration of Network Management applications and Performance Tools
Utilize tools to identify network anomalies and faults.
Oversee the monitoring, escalating and alerting of additionally integrated businesses.
Work with a team of engineers in support of network management needs such as alerts on devices, configuration management, scripts to large scale deployments, configuration audits.
Expert understanding of SNMP and how to manage and extract required information for management.
Monitors network devices and overall network health / performance.
Responsible incident response, troubleshooting, and resolution per policies and procedures
Implement technical solutions to mitigate outages or performance issues
Provides guidance to operations shift members
Participates in various working groups and boards related to process improvement and change authorization
Interfaces with various engineering groups to provide network and system performance feedback to maintain efficient network functionality and security.
Collaborates with software engineers, network operations, security operations, and system administrators to ensure quality and integrity of IT systems
Participates in critical recovery efforts

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree w/8+years experience with multivendor IP based networks.
Expert level understanding of SNMP, MIBS and SYSLOG.
Cisco Network Device Configuration Experience
Expert level understanding of all layers of the OSI model
Expert level understanding of IP routing and switching
Advanced understanding of Load Balancing
Expert understanding of transport mediums such as DS1, DS3, OCx, Ethernet etc. SDwan is a plus.
Extensive experience with, but not limited to, the following vendors: Broadcom/CA spectrum, Cisco, Solarwinds, MS Sharepoint.
Ability to multi-task and communicate complicated technical issues across and upwards within management hierarchy.
Detailed technical documentation/network diagram creation experience/training
