Performance modeling and evaluation of existing and future designs of Pearson''s Mission Applications
Defining and evaluating software and firmware optimizations
Workload & benchmark definition and development
Performance verification and model correlation
Competitive analysis and vendor evaluations
Continuous communication with problem solving skills for bottlenecks
Provide technical leadership and direction to performance assessment efforts.
Ensure experiments/comparisons in concurrent performance projects are consistent and in-line with higher level product objectives.
Augment performance test assets to address customer/field escapes for performance issues
Help develop performance test plans to perform in-depth performance assessments for key platform/DBS features.
Work with performance engineers to develop backlog items & prioritize delivery for continuous improvement of performance benchmarks.
Provide performance consultation as required for other missions including Platform Performance, Cloud Platform, Cloud enablement, OS Engineering, Customer Benchmarking.
Interface and interact with cross-functional teams including Product and Engineering management.

Qualifications
Good understanding of computer architecture: server systems, data centers, processors, memory hierarchy, memory subsystems, storage, I/O, networking.
Experience in Cloud computing platform applications design/architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP), Containers (Docker, OpenShift) and high availability architecture/design
Leadership skills to include overseeing/leading the implementing technical project schedules, project management plans, performance management plans, operations management plans and methods for measuring team performance in the completion of contractually obligated deliverables.
Experience defining performance verification plans
Strong critical thinking skills, an analytical mind, and problem-solving aptitude
Demonstrated ability building models to predict performance of future systems.
Track record of innovation and creativity in problem solving
