Job Description:
Database Administrator / Analyst will be under the direction of FDLE’s CJIS Project’s Office to
achieve the goals and objectives related to the evaluation and quality of CCH data. The
Database Analyst will perform Data Administration activities using Informatica Data Quality
software to analyze, profile and assess the quality of existing legacy CCH data sources in
preparation for migration to a new CCH software system and new database design.
Responsibilities
CJIS Database Administrator/ Database Analyst responsibilities include but may not be limited
to the following:
• Analysis of the use of criminal justice data across multiple platforms
• Maintains the implemented Informatica Data Quality and Data Cleansing software and
infrastructure


Administers project team access to the Informatica Data Analysis, Data Quality and Data
Cleansing environments
• Maintains and elaborates existing data profiling and cleansing plans and strategy
• Maintains and elaborates existing Informatica data source repository and update/refresh
processes
• Maintains and elaborates existing and new Informatica data profiling configurations,
scheduled processes, programs and scripts
• Documents, maintains and elaborates data cleansing inventory based on data profiling
results
• Maintains and elaborates existing documented FDLE CJIS Systems data dictionary
artifacts
• Performs ad-hoc data profiling of FDLE CJIS Systems data sources utilizing Informatica
Data Quality software
• Exercise judgment within defined standard practices and procedures to analyze, test,
design, program, debug, modify and implement system requirements
• Job entails primarily PL/SQL development work with some Database Administration work
• Work closely with business units on gathering requirements into implementable
architecture and designs
Create operations and technical documentation for developed systems and applications
• Utilize advanced Oracle features and techniques where appropriate to develop robust,
reliable and high-performance solutions
• Maintain awareness of new Oracle features and techniques and develop an understanding
of how and where they can best be applied
• Work closely with project management, risk analysts, and QA teams. This requires strong
collaboration, communication and technical leadership skills in articulating complex
technical infrastructure and concepts
• Plan and estimate for system enhancements including design, testing, and rollout
• Develop understanding of complex business logic in existing systems in order to transition
to new technologies and systems
• Evaluate software for performance (SQL plans, scalability, throughput) and
make/recommend changes where appropriate
• Work with system operations personnel and other application teams in production support
and defining system recovery procedures. Identify root causes and create solutions for
application failures


Reviews and provides feedback on project artifacts and deliverables as required by project
team
