Job Description :
They are looking for a Project manager who can start delivering within a few weeks of joining so must have extensive experience managing projects and delivering solutions
The role is in Change management team which reports directly to CIO so it’s not in one particular domain of business but they have projects from all types of business functions including Risk and Controls, Front Office, Finance, Banking, CRM applications etc.
They need a person who has worked in Change function. They will need to have strong business background and some IT background. They do not need strictly IT project managers here.
Must be very good in communication skills as they will be directly interacting with senior level executives of the bank in different departments to understand the issues, problem statements and then analyze the issues to come up with solutions and work with different departments to resolve these issues
Key skills:
Must be very conversant with Project management methodologies. PMP certification will be a huge plus but not a must
Must have worked on Complex change projects within financial domain
Strong in presentation and communication skills
Focused on delivery
Lead steering committees, drive meetings and agenda etc.
Proactive: Not afraid to ask questions; Must be able to take initiative and function independently
Strong understanding of financial industry (multiople areas within Investment banking)
They will be open to experience with agile or Waterfall (not one in particular)
Using your project management expertise and knowledge to either facilitate (lead) and/or contribute on several projects running at the same time (divide and conquer team collaboration
Aspects of this role may require the ability to analyze and assess the data and supporting materials/documents required to determine correct execution or remediation plan for a given project – help breakdown and understand the issue(s) raised to be resolved / remediated. Not all projects will be the same, however, there is both a business and technology component to the majority of projects.
Establish appropriate governance structure (roles / responsibilities, project plan (the deliverables) approvals required etc for a given project and track / measure progress
Facilitate (when necessary) the appropriate escalations to resolve delivery / execution roadblocks
Manage / support project related documentation tracking (use of Share Pt or other internal document retention application); project charters, plans, delivery supporting materials (requirements documents, test results, approvals etc
Overview of department/team:
The IBCM CIO team largely based in New York and Raleigh manage a number of key initiatives and projects that support the IBCM business areas (internal clients) including Front Office, Risk and Controls and Finance. The Mgmt. leads for this team are primarily based in New York City, facilitating direct engagement with the internal clients and stakeholders.
Challenges contractor will be facing in role:
This role requires the ability to negotiate with stakeholders and clients. Multiple priorities necessitate transparent communications and level setting of expectations with the CIO team and specifically projects related stakeholders and clients.
Essential skills and qualifications:
Experienced use of MS software including excel, power point, word. Working knowledge of MS project is a plus
Desired skills and qualifications:
PMP certification or other project management related certification is a plus
