Job Title: Java Developer
Location: Rockville, MD
Position Type: Contract to Hire

Summary:
The role of the Software Engineer is to function as an individual contributor with clearly defined guidelines and direction and collaborate with Senior Developers and the Business Analysis team to understand the system design and business functions.
This contractor role is a member of the Software Development and Delivery team and reports directly to the Development Manager.

What you will do:
Perform software design and development and function as an individual contributor with clearly defined guidelines and direction.
Collaborate with Senior Developers and the Business Analysis team to understand the system design and business functions.
Support senior development staff in completing gap analysis and analyzing impact of system software.
Participate in internal solution design discussions with other senior team members.
Document software component specifications in detailed technical design.
Work on Proof of Concepts as assigned by senior developers.
Develop code in accordance with the system design and coding standards with minimal supervision.
Perform unit testing and code coverage for developed code.
Analyze code to identify root cause.
Participate in design and code review sessions.

Who You Are:
You have a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience
You have 5-7 years of strong development experience with Core Java, J2EE, and PL/SQL.
You are familiar with Spring framework.
If you have experience in Health IT, it would be “a plus”.
If you have working experience with any of the following, it would be “a plus”:
JSP, HTML, Java Script
WebLogic, JBoss (e.g., Wildfly)
Ant, Maven
