Job Description :

·       A Security Tooling Developer is required to work in the Network Security Engineering team, which engineers, integrates, and hosts firewalls, web infrastructure and everything in between which serves thousands of web applications being delivered to both internal and external clients.

·       In this role, the engineer will act as a subject matter expert for security tooling development and application security in general. They will be expected to collaborate with lead engineers in our team responsible for web and application servers, firewalls, intrusion detection devices (IDS) load-balancers and web authentication infrastructure, and with colleagues in the wider organization who own networks, logging, application architecture and other complementary technologies.

·       Develop, Support, and Implement tools that support the firm’s network security infrastructure (firewalls, proxies, NIDS devices, etc).

·       Research into vendor and open-source solutions in the malware web security space, and determination of their place in our overall solution.

·       Interfacing with technical contacts at external vendor providers and other internal teams to ensure a holistic solution is delivered and enhanced.

·       Training operations personnel, application support groups and other engineers in tools, technologies, and procedures.

·       Writing of tools and scripts as appropriate to support handoff of solutions to Operations teams.

QUALIFICATIONS * SKILLS REQUIRED

·       5+ years’ experience with scripting experience across at least a couple of the more popular scripting languages (Perl & Python specifically at a minimum.)

·       3+ years’ experience integrating scripts with common network infrastructure (e.g. – backing up devices, writing API calls, etc)

 3+ years’ experience with Unix/Linux environments; must know common user tasks.

·       Working knowledge of web proxies and firewalls (Should understand how they work in principle).

·       Good understanding of the protocols underpinning the web - TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL/TLS etc.

·       Experience with common networking topologies (hardware load-balancing, firewalls, multi-tiered architectures, etc).

·       Programming/Scripting languages: Python, Perl.

·       RESTful/SOAP API programming experience.

·       Hands-on proxy or firewall experience.

·       CISSP or similar recognized cyber security qualifications.

·       Experience working in large enterprises.

·       Other programming language skills (C, C++, Java, Angular/JS, etc).

·       Hands-on experience with Bluecoat proxies, Juniper, or Fortinet firewalls.
