Location: Waukegan IL
Duration: 2 Months (Backfill for Paternity Leave Employee)
 
 
Years of experience/education and/or certifications required:
  • 7+ years experience with network and security planning, design, and implementing LAN, WAN, network security, and wireless network infrastructures.
 
What are the top 3-5 skills requirements should this person have?
  • Hands on and working knowledge experience with Palo Alto Networks, Zscaler , proxies, DNS
  • Experience with network and security planning, design, and implementing LAN, WAN, network security,
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical subject matter to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to understand enterprise security requirements, develop designs and solutions that align with and meet requirements for IT and business strategy.
 
What is a nice to have (but not required) regarding skills, requirements, experience, education, or certification?
  • Degree
  • Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, CISSP
  • Working knowledge of network security connectivity with cloud providers.
  • Working knowledge of SD-WAN technologies
  • Understanding of micro segmentation

  • Ability to work extended hours or weekends if necessary.
 
Preferred Skills:

Description:
  • Provides technical design, implementation and life cycle support for network security solutions (firewalls, IDS/IPS, etc.) Applies IT knowledge, specialized technical experience, research, and analysis to create technical solution specification that meets requirements. Knowledgeable in common tools that support area of expertise.
  • Drives implementation and provides technical support for escalated operational incidents and problems. Monitors and reports task assignment progress and status as required and escalates risks and issues to key stakeholders.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for continuous improvement by evaluating new technologies, tools and engineering methods that are applicable within area of responsibility and expertise.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the engineering of network security infrastructure: firewall, proxies, WAN, cloud network and cloud security.
