Role: Network Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Naperville, IL On-Site from day one
Duration: 6-month Contract-to-Hire
All candidates must be willing to convert to an FTE with no fee after 6 months.
JOBDESCRIPTION:
Provideclient consultation to support the design and implementation of variouscompute, storage and virtualization components of clients environment. Advancedfamiliarity with VMware, Cisco UCS, Hyperflex, Nutanix, Linux and Windows. Ableto make technical decisions on all project tasks and interface with all levelsof client team.
PrimaryResponsibilities (but not limited to):
- Conduct/lead design workshops for complex designs to meet clients business and technical objectives
- Proactively develop plans and activities to avoid problems
- Serve as technical point of contact on customer engagements
- Maintain client relationships through multiple forms of electronic interactions
- Present solutions to technology issues and problems in user-friendly language
- Provide clear communication with customers to ensure resolution of all open issues
- Assist in the management of projects
- Regularly interface with technical and business staff of clients, including the project sponsor and stakeholders of projects in more complex engagements
- Identify and communicate potential opportunities for cross-selling to the sales team
- Manage time and expense to meet or exceed expectations defined in the Statement of Work
- Provide high quality content deliverables using the appropriate document templates
- Work with Project Manager and clients to manage expectations and timelines to ensure expectations and commitments are being met
- Educate the client on solution as appropriate throughout the life of the project
- Perform remote troubleshooting through proven diagnostic techniques
- Analyze and resolve network performance, connectivity, and related issues
- Manage and perform equipment builds, deploy patches & upgrades
- Create and maintain accurate documentation for internal knowledge base
- Root Cause Analysis and Problem Resolution
- Actively work to identify and solve repeat issues, improving on existing services or processes where necessary
- Demonstrate complete proficiency in problem management
RequiredSkills:
- CCNP certification
- 5 years of network engineering, implementation, support / troubleshooting experience
- Experience in systems design and implementation in medium to large environments
- Manufacturer certifications such as VMware, VEEAM, Nutanix, Cisco preferred
- Experience with designing and implementing Hyperflex preferred
- Experience with VMWare virtualization environments: ESXi, vCenter, vROPS, Log Insight, Lifecycle Manager.
- Experience with Cisco MDS and Storage e.g. HP and Pure
- Experience with Zerto engineering & administration
- Experience with Windows Systems management and patching
- Experience with Linux System management and patching
- Consulting experience preferred
- Understanding of change management, testing requirements, techniques, and tools to ensure high availability of platforms
