IBM and IBM customer mainframe systems.

Provide Tier3 host network services support in broadest sense, at expert level for host network components VTAM/SNA, TCP/IP, secure FTP, Telnet3270, SMTP, Netview, NetView/FTP, Connect Direct and XCOMetc.

The level of support requires understanding, knowledge, and experience of IBM zSeries mainframe systems and technology, for z/OS (MVS).

Required competencies and knowledge and experience for the following host network components: z/OS Communication server, VTAM/SNA, APPN/EE (Enterprise Extender), TCP/IP, FTP, including secure file transfer, Telnet 3270, incl. TLS/SSL, SMTP, Netview, NetView/FTP, and any other network component, which are defined in scope of support.

Roles & Responsibilities:  

1) Designs, develops, documents, and analyzes overall architecture of systems, including hardware and software.

2) Determines integrated hardware and software architecture solutions that meet performance, usability, scalability, reliability, and security needs.

3) Coordinates design and integration of total system including subsystems.

4) Performs onsite data center support that includes problem management, change management, project support and new implementations.

5) Supports testing, planning, problem management, change management and staging of network hardware and configurations.

6) Provides customer support including testing network hardware and software, equipment installation and turn-up, and remote hands assistance as required.

7) Provide support for sniffer and various application analysis tools for benchmarking and troubleshooting.

8) Participate in identification of root cause analysis, resolution, outage mitigations, testing and implementation of vendor/IT fixes or design changes.

9) Review proposed tech system designs in collaboration with team
