Role Summary :

The Data Architect is a hands-on position focused on defining a business-driven data warehouse architecture supported by policies, principles and guidelines that are aligned with data management and data governance. The position will work within IT to help Sompo International create an industry-leading data warehouse infrastructure that measures performance of all aspects of the company’s operations.

 

Role Responsibilities

•  Translates business requirements into usable enterprise information which may include an enterprise data model, common business vocabulary, taxonomies to be used to guide enterprise solution development, and achieve consistency of information assets across the application portfolio.

•  Develops and implements strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and implementation of a database.

•  Develops and maintains a formal description of the data and data structures including the data models, data flow diagrams, data dictionaries and technical metadata.

•  Creates source to target mapping documents to capture application data elements for loading into data warehouse

•  Collaborates with ETL team on data model, its maintenance and optimization as well as end-to-end data driven integration strategy.

•  Monitor and guide design of a semantically rich business model of the enterprise domain, independent of any technology solution

•  Work directly with all application development teams to ensure that data is aligned between systems

·       TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS

•  10+ years of data warehouse experience

•  10+ years of hands-on data modeling and data architecture experience

•  5 years P&C Insurance experience (Policy and Claims)

•  Extensive knowledge of Data Warehousing, ETL and BI architectures, concepts and frameworks

•  Capable of creating and tuning Semantic layer Reporting Views

•  Capable of facilitating data discovery sessions involving business subject matter experts.

•  Knowledge of RDBMS platforms (e.g. SQL Server, DB2) with experience in generating DDL

•  Familiar with metadata ingestion and translation

 

General Qualifications

•  Knowledge of the P&C insurance business and systems such as Guidewire Policy Center, Guidewire Claims Center, SAP FS-RI & SAP FS-CD is a huge plus

Product Manager,

The Product Manager oversees several key revenue producing products as well as internal support products that drive efficiency.  Responsibilities include documenting strategy, creating and defining requirements for design and build, product messaging and positioning.  This role will also be directly responsible for implementing customized customer programs and troubleshooting user and client issues related to our premium newsletter products. The Product Manager works closely with the dedicated sales, edit and tech teams to continue to build out and refine the product keeping it competitive in the market.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Working cross-functionally across all areas to define and prioritize business and editorial requirements for new products and enhancements.
  • Owning the core Barron’s product roadmap.
  • Making product enhancement and optimization recommendations to increase revenue both from advertising and subscriptions.
  • Performing business analysis to demonstrate ROI and P&L impact of product enhancements.
  • Working with research teams to gather and analyze audience research and feedback regarding new products and enhancements.

Requirements:
