Mobility Product Engineer (MDM, EMM)
Location : San Francisco, CA

Duration : 12 Months Contract



Overview

Looking for a Mobility Product Engineer/Architect to help the agency focus on expanding and enhancing our mobile platforms and bringing more services to mobile devices (phones, tablets, and laptops
Introduction
The Mobility consultant will have expertise to architect, design, and implement solutions across the mobility space.
Our vision for this individual is that they will engage with end users to learn their business and propose improvements to their mobile experience.
Additionally, they will fill in the gaps between the various I.T. units.
I.T. has struggled with managing mobility partly because the technology does not neatly fit into one area of I.T. Rather, it spans multiple I.T. teams. As a result, no one team has owned the space and approached mobility holistically.
Additionally, the consultant will work with the security team to implement compliant technologies while still keeping the user experience and needs at the forefront of their design.
Scope of Work
Some areas of integration that we struggle with are in
Reducing manual and post-provisioning configuration of devices through automatic “zero-touch” deployment.
Better use of our EMM/MDM platform to securely deliver and revoke custom-built applications with a BYOD or partner laptop/computer.
Integrating enterprise productivity and file storage solution with the EMM/MDM so that file sharing/editing/collaboration can more easily and securely be done on mobile devices.
Researching, testing and verifying how internal web-based apps can be accessed securely.
Provide technical skills that cover a broad range of disciplines and/or a particular technical discipline dealing with mobile technologies.
Identify, investigate, evaluate and become proficient in new mobile technologies and technical disciplines to include Mobile Device Management, Device Enrollment Profiles, OS support for iOS and Android, wireless network protocols, and mobile device support.
Installation of software products on various hardware platforms.
Provide recommendations and implement solutions for projects and product owners on the proper deployment of applications and mobile products within HSA’s mobile standards.
Operating system installation and customization where applicable, troubleshoot, coordinate, assist and advise in recovery from component failures of supported mobile and other support systems.
Maintain frequent interaction with internal and vendor technical staffs and project managers to ensure effective delivery of mobile solutions in accordance with project timelines and associated budgets.
Provide technical input and skills for the installation and certification of all supporting software and hardware in a lab environment in order to assure a sound deployment basis for production implementations
Identify key roles and responsibilities within Information Technology division for continued and ongoing administration, development, and support of mobile technologies, and cross-train I.T. staff on the knowledge and skills needed to perform those roles.
Experience Required
Experience with designing and developing training, documenting architecture, and implementing processes to manage infrastructure.
Develop 3-5 year roadmap for the agency to follow, post consulting.
Experience with Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) / Mobile Device Management (MDM) infrastructure is required.
Specific platform knowledge in one or more key areas including EMM/MDM platforms such as BlackBerry UEM, Workspace ONE (Air Watch), JAMF, MaaS 360, Mobile Iron or other mobility platforms is required.
Experience with managed device deployment through Apple Business Manager, Google Android Enterprise, and zero-touch enrollment is required.
Experience using EMM/MDM platforms to configure managed devices for security compliance (e.g. HIPAA) is desired.
Experience using MDM platforms to deploy custom-built mobile applications to managed devices is desired.
Experience with mobile networking technologies/protocols and mobile applications is desired.
Experience supporting mobile hardware such as iPhones, iPads, and Android devices is required
Ability to collaborate with our vendor partners to develop enhancements to provide new technologies to the environment to meet business requirements.
Ability to collaborate with our vendor partners to troubleshoot complex mobility issues and identify root cause, fix, and implement changes in a complex, high volume environment.
Proven record of project delivery results.
Ability to properly communicate technical issues and recommendations to C-Suite Executives.
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively are essential.
Solid understanding and experience with mobile operating system concepts and practical implementation of those fundamentals in a large-scale production environment.


Deliverables
Create end user documentation and work with Learning & Organizational Development to create an end-user training curriculum.
Document mobile management architecture including manufacturer, carrier, cloud, EMM/MDM, and other related on-premise systems.
Develop and document processes for managing and implementing mobile infrastructure, and provisioning and maintaining endpoint devices and software.
Create technical documentation for I.T. staff responsible for administering, supporting and provisioning mobile technologies.
Develop 3-5 year roadmap for development and management of mobile technology at the agency.
