Middleware Architect at Lincolnshire, US (Remote till Covid) with Mphasis / Alight Solutions
Note: Full Time with Mphasis
Salary: $140K with benefits (Only independent candidates)
Technical Skills:
· Leverage deep MW technology expertise to deliver and ensure that all areas in the organization that provision, manage and support the MW technologies have the tools, processes, and documentation they require to effectively execute their roles.
· Execute strategy as it relates to the introduction of tools and the automation of build, test, implement and configure activities across Application Platform and Infrastructure
· Participate in middleware automation activities and take lead to identify the opportunities to automate BAU (business as usual) and project task that can be automated.
· Strong technical skills to develop shell /Bash scripts to execute daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly maintenance work.
· Kafka, Redis and consul platform administration and maintenance and tracking and meeting service level agreement - MUST
· Partner with the Operations team to automatically integrate with appropriate tools and processes as part of automated/self-serve Application, Platform, or Infrastructure releases.
· Work with partners within Technology. The incumbent will require an in-depth understanding of their business needs while identifying and leveraging synergies across the various areas
· Act as thought leader, innovator, and agent of change for the programs and services under management
· Work with vendor platform providers and engineering peers to keep abreast of trends, products, frameworks, and applications.
· Proactive in identifying emerging technologies and innovative solutions in building more robust platform domains.
· Effectively identify and manage stakeholder engagement and impacts across the enterprise
· Delivers stable and healthy infrastructure to operations teams and provides thorough knowledge transfer to operational support teams. Facilitates knowledge sharing by creating and maintaining detailed, comprehensive documentation and diagrams.
· Performs capacity planning and continual performance improvement, creates, executes, and maintains infrastructure readiness documentation, and transitions acceptance check lists to operational support teams.
· Analyzes existing IT operations and make recommendations for continual service improvement.
· Consistently and proactively looks for opportunities to automate and consolidate open-source technologies, as well as to improve systems performance. Makes recommendations to upper management and lead full rollout and proper transition to operation teams.
· Demonstrate working knowledge of configuring tool such as Bitbucket, Arti-factory and other industry leading cloud configuration and automation software package
· Strong knowledge of Kafka, Redis, WebSphere (different versions), Jboss, Apache and TCserver platform administration and maintenance tasks. Expected to show independence and initiative to prioritize heavy workload, to manage the expectations of customers and to meet communicated deadlines of both projects and operational tasks.
· Understands business and application requirements to make design decisions that are both financially sound and result in stable systems that meet operational and data security standards.
· Ability to scale middleware platform horizontally and vertically. Communicates in manner that is appropriate for the situation and possesses the business acumen necessary to communicate how technical design decisions affect users and budgets.
· Develops detailed documentation for environments where individual is primary project lead or application Subject Matter Expert and capable of training others on those environments.
· Act as a role model and positive influence for colleagues in support of firm, practice, unit, and customer missions, objectives, goals, and values.
· Be a positive, helpful teammate capable of communicating across a diverse workforce to ensure work transitions effectively without interruption or incident.
Process Skills:
· Strong understanding of Transaction middleware platform with 10-12 years of experience of administrating and supporting WebSphere, Jboss, TCserver and Apache is required.
· Strong understanding of Shell or Bash scripts and use of common Unix/Linux utilities for parsing data like AWD, Sed, Perl and regular expressions
· Minimum 2 years’ experience in using Kafka, Redis, Consul, Bitbucket, Arti-factory and other automation tool
· Experience in a Linux / UNIX / Windows distributed enterprise environment is required.
· Experience managing upgrading and patching other Middleware deployments is required.
· Knowledge managing .NET architecture is desirable.
· Experience managing Middleware related monitoring tools, including, New Relic and Patrol is highly desirable.
· Experience managing Middleware security, including participation in security audits, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and adding application certificates is highly desirable.
· Familiarity with IT Enterprise architecture.
· Experience and knowledge of current trends within JAVA based technologies.
· Experience and knowledge of current trends within the Web Technology industry.
· Experience in the development and enabling PaaS capabilities.
· Design highly available MW systems that meet our Security and compliance policies required by our business.

Certification:
· Bachelor's degree in an IT field or relating experience.
