Manual QA Tester Kansas City 6+ months Preferred Local Responsibilities: Perform manual testing, no automated testing ALM (SDLC tool), Excel for small testing Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) is the specification, design, development and testing of a software application. ALM covers the entire lifecycle from the idea conception, through to the development, testing, deployment, support and ultimately retirement of systems. Very analytical with basic knowledge of testing and writing test cases Collaborates well with the team Team has stand up meetings every other day Test and support Medicaid and KEES product Perform end to end testing UAT Develop and write test cases Able to work on their own and contribute to the team FORMAL POSITION DESCRIPTION 45% Serves as Business Analyst and User Acceptance Tester to work with IT system business users across agencies, to assess business needs resulting in system changes. Sees those changes through successful testing and implementation readiness. Understands system design and applies that information to write test conditions and test scripts/scenarios, then executes them and validates expected results against actual results. Performs research functions including planning, designing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating testing activities in order to ensure accurate results. 35% Uses testing software tools and methodologies to test system batches, interfaces, conversion, reports, and overall application functionality for KDHE, DHCF computer systems, especially the two large systems supporting KanCare programs the Kansas Eligibility Enforcement System (KEES) and the Kansas Modular Medicaid Systems (KMMS Will research issues and log defects as deemed necessary. Analyzes and reports on test results. 15% Attends regular staff meetings and small management team meetings. Attends Steering Committee meetings and Team Lead meetings as needed to provide updates on analysis and testing progress. Works closely with KDHE/DHCF Project Management, Business and Technical teams, as well as with system contractors. Coordinates work with these stakeholders in a large team environment. 5% Perform other duties as assigned including serving as a member of the KDHE Disaster Response Team as needed to assure the agency's public and environmental health response is adequately staffed during and immediately following natural and/or manmade disasters, infectious disease outbreaks, and/or acts of terrorism Special knowledge, skills and abilities: Experience with different types of software testing (functional, regression, user interface) Experience writing and executing test scripts Experience analyzing and reporting on software test results Experience using software testing tools and methodologies Communication skills in working with different stakeholders as a team Preferred: Experience in software testing, especially with Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS), large healthcare systems or Medicaid eligibility systems Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field with at least 3 years of related work experience.
