Position-Mainframe Systems Programmer/Engineer

  • Mainframe Systems Programmer/Engineer - The Mainframe Engineer serves as a hands-on technical resource responsible for the daily operations. In this role you will be responsible for providing support, design, installation, configuration, maintenance and testing of IBM-based mainframe hardware, operating systems, systems application software, storage, and systems utilities. You will implement changes, resolve incidents, and satisfy service requests for mainframe systems and services. Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) and peer mentor to others on the team.
  • Qualifications
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in IBM mainframe hardware and software systems.
  • Expertise with core IBM mainframe technologies including but not limited to z/OS, CICS. Storage, DB2, SDSF, JES2, VTAM, ISPF, JCL, VSAM utilities, assembler, RACF, SQL, CLIST, REXX, COBOL, MQ, SMPE, SMTP, Db2 utilities, mainframe monitors, JCL checker, Unix/Linux.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in batch and real-time mainframe processing methodologies.
  • Expertise in a multiple system services-oriented environment with emphasis on z/OS. AIX, DB2 and Linux.
  • Expertise with core inter-networking concepts to include TCP/IP, VTAM, routing, firewalls, DNS, SSL, HTTP/HTTPS and encryption technologies.
  • Expertise with middleware and data applications such as z/OS Connect, CICS, DB2, MQ or other associated technologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or other related field or commensurate experience.
  • Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and knowledge of DevSecOps best practices.
  • Expertise with Application development tools such as IBM's IDZ, Debug Tool, Fault Analyzer, Performance Analyzer and File Manager.
