We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer for a 6-month contract position based in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in COBOL programming on IBM i systems (System i / COBOL400) and experience working with IBM WebSphere Application Server. A solid understanding of Unix/Linux environments and AIX is essential, along with proficiency in Python for scripting and automation tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL on IBM i systems.
- Support and manage IBM WebSphere Application Server environments.
- Work with Unix/Linux systems, using basic commands and shell scripting.
- Utilize Python for automation, scripting, and integration with other systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across application and infrastructure layers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business requirements.
