Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and mainframe utilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting enterprise-level mainframe applications. This role requires deep technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Key Responsibilities -
Develop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS.

Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications.

Perform coding, unit testing, debugging, and optimization of application performance.

Work with batch processing, file handling, SQL queries, and system performance improvements.

Troubleshoot production issues, analyze job failures, and implement timely fixes.

Collaborate with Business Analysts, Quality Assurance, and cross-functional technical teams.

Create and maintain technical documentation and ensure compliance with SDLC standards.

Participate in code reviews and provide guidance to junior team members when needed.
Required Qualifications -
12+ years of experience as a Mainframe Developer.

Strong hands-on expertise in COBOL programming.

Proficiency in JCL and mainframe batch job execution.

Solid experience with DB2 and SQL.

Experience with CICS and online transaction processing.

Knowledge of VSAM, TSO/ISPF, and mainframe debugging techniques.

Familiarity with tools such as ChangeMan, Abend-AID, and File-AID.

Strong understanding of batch and online processing environments.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills -
Experience working in an Agile methodology environment.

Exposure to application modernization or migration initiatives.

Knowledge of REXX or Easytrieve scripting.
