Position Overview
The client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Natural/ADABAS Developer to join the MAVERICS System Support Team. This individual will support, enhance, and maintain Mississippi’s statewide SNAP/TANF Eligibility Determination System, ensuring system reliability, accuracy, and compliance with federal and state mandates. The role involves working in a Linux environment, performing system enhancements, integrating with external platforms, and providing on-call production support.
Primary Responsibilities
Maintain, enhance, and support the statewide SNAP/TANF Eligibility Determination System.
Perform system analysis, design, development, and testing for complex large-scale applications.
Troubleshoot issues within Natural/ADABAS and COBOL batch programs in a Linux environment.
Develop and maintain interfaces with external systems and automate existing processes as required.
Provide on-call support on a rotating schedule.
Interpret, design, and implement federal and state mandates within the MAVS Linux-based system.
Create, update, and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and process workflows.
Recommend system and process improvements based on technical and functional expertise.

NATURAL and COBOL batch programming with ADABAS in a Linux environment 10+ years
Troubleshooting SNAP/TANF eligibility systems using Natural One IDE and MicroFocus COBOL 10+ years
Large-scale IBM Mainframe/Linux development (analysis, design, programming) 6+ years
Automated eligibility systems (SNAP, TANF, SNAP E&T, Benefits, Benefit Recovery) 6+ years
Understanding of SNAP/TANF eligibility policies & implementation 6+ years
Designing and implementing federal/state mandates in Linux-based eligibility systems (e.g., MAVS) 6+ years
