Job Title: IT User Experience Designer I
Location: NorthPark Drive, Urbandale, Iowa, 50322
Period: 17 Months (Probability to extend)
Pay Rate: 45/hr

What Makes Candidates Stand Out
• Experience with Sketch and InVision
• Experience designing for construction or agriculture in-vehicle interfaces and/or customer-facing displays
• Experience with agile development methodologies
• Experience working with remote development teams
• Experience understanding and applying visual brand guidelines/style guides
• Experience applying a broad range of User Research tools
Education (or equivalent work experience)
Equivalent work experience or degree in the following: Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Industrial Design or related discipline
Candidates should not come from a Development background. Candidates that are a good match for this position will have strong Design Experience. Specifically experience with Sketch and Invision is needed.
Candidates should understand that part of their work work will be within UX Documentation with approximately 80% Visual and 20% Written word. (Describing and showing how the component is expected to perform. Prior UX Documentation will be very helpful
Technical Skills and Knowledge
• Minimum two years of UX design experience
• Experience in the use of at least two design and prototyping tools, such as: Sketch, A e Illustrator, A e XD, Balsamiq, InVision, or Figma to create user interfaces
• Demonstrate use of typography principles
• Ability to think in terms of holistic design, apply strategic thinking and business goals to design work, focus on usability, and understand aesthetic values.
• Experience managing multiple projects and effective time management skills
• Ability to translate customer needs into design and articulate that design to technical and non-technical team members
• Demonstrate effective communication and presentation skills
Major Duties
• Applies knowledge of usability, human factors, and UI processes to create innovative user experiences.
• Assists team members in pre and post-development usability testing.
• Creates and maintains project and overall system design artifacts.
• Works with the development team and test organization to ensure that new features are implemented according to specifications.
A User Experience (UX) Interaction Designer for the John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG-Urbandale) supports projects of small to medium complexity through the development of UI task flows, wireframes, prototypes through to final production for new products and the resolution of issues with current production products.
