We are currently looking for a Linux Administrator II. This person will install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems. Analyze and resolve problems associated with system performance, reliability and hardware/software compatibility with a primary focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure and maintain the Linux operating systems using Infrastructure-as-Code methods
- Perform ongoing patching of Linux operating systems
- Monitor performance and availability of the Linux environment
- Advise management on Linux capacity and performance planning
- Ensure compliance with security standards and patching strategy
- Analyze and resolve problems related to Linux hardware, operating systems, network, and software
- Work closely with Platform, Middleware, and Applications teams to ensure the integrated systems work reliably and efficiently
- Answer questions related to the set up and installation of the Linux ecosystem
- Research and articulate best practices related to the installation, setup, and maintenance of the Linux ecosystem
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience administering RHEL distributions
- 3+ years of experience using configuration automation tools such as Red Hat Ansible or Ansible Tower
- 3+ years of experience using systems monitoring tools
- 2+ years of experience with patching Linux platforms using tools such as Red Hat Satellite or Tanium
- 2+ years of experience with Hypervisors such as Red Hat Virtualization or VMWare
- Ability to comprehend and ensure compliance with company regulations
- Ability to work both independently and collaborate with team when necessary
- Ability to communicate and get along well with others is a must
- Storage and Networking experienced required
- Red Hat Certified Systems Engineer (RHCSE) a plus
