Job Summary: The Solutions Architect will support a portfolio of strategic initiatives by designing reliable and scalable solutions. The architect will work very closely with the business and development teams and is responsible for translating business needs into technical solutions.
Role
• The Solution Architect will work with clients and internal teams to drive business development and support delivery of custom development projects and product implementations. You will lead the design, scoping and development of technical solutions for our customers. This is a collaborative position that requires a strong understanding of solution design, business and financial benefits of technology and customer interaction. You will work closely with clients to conduct technical discovery, architecture design and the API exploration needed to ensure project success. Internally, this position will work closely with cross-functional teams in product and business development to arrive at optimal solutions and help deliver great products.
• You will lead the technical delivery of the epic level items in our product portfolio backlog. You must employ the highest levels of teamwork and collaboration to build elegant and scalable solutions. Primary responsibilities include the analysis of business and functional requirements, design of the solution architecture, and development of applications.
• You will lead the technical aspects of developing and enhancing the BMV’s cloud strategy and infrastructure modernization projects.
Functions/Responsibilities
• Translate the Enterprise Architecture and user requirements into specific module / code designs that will be given to a development community for coding and testing.
• Own design patterns, coding and documentation standards, Unit Testing guidelines and other related artifacts to ensure consistency and uniform quality throughout all development work products.
• Provide expert level coaching, directly advising on developers on the most efficient and effective technical solution to realize the desired functionality.
• Serve as an advisor and oversight to the project teams throughout the SDLC
• Communicate the technical language of architectural project to business counterparts
• Ensure the proposed solutions addresses all requirements and aligns with the future-state, enterprise-level architecture
• Design reviews, code reviews, planning and estimation meetings
• Working collaboratively with product owners and scrum team members
• Collaborates with end users, Business Analysts, Software Developers and business leaders to design solutions that address business opportunities
• Understands user requirements, translates them into technical solutions and provides high level effort involved for the implementations

Required Skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or Engineering
• 10+ years’ experience as a full-time software developer or engineer
• 5-8 years’ experience designing, developing and implementing multi-tiered solutions
• Rehearsed in API design principles and designing solutions with Microservices and event driven architectures
• Proficient with various programming languages and development environments as well as adopt new languages and technologies quickly
• Ability to seamlessly partner with business teams, developing relationships with their technical and executive members
• Understanding of all aspects and roles of scaled agile software delivery and the impacts associated with various types of technical decisions
• Must be a strong communicator with excellent business acumen that understands modern concepts and technologies
• Experience with test driven development (TDD)
• Experience working in a team-oriented fast paced, distributed and collaborative environment
• Excellent troubleshooting skills, self-motivated, results-driven and well organized
