ENS (Edge Network Services) Lab, Network Support Technician (Tier 3/4): The ENS Lab Team provides break-fix services across the lab environments in Facebook office locations and colocation data centers. Maintaining the fleet requires the Network Support Technician to monitor, react, respond, troubleshoot, and fix issues across network devices. This includes (but is not limited to) Juniper, Arista, and Cisco switches and routers. The Network Support Technician identifies what pieces and parts have failed, and then fixes or replaces those parts to ensure the network devices run optimally and resiliently. This includes both hardware and link troubleshooting. The Tier 3 and 4 levels denote increasing levels of skills, experience, and team leadership responsibilities. Tier 3 is considered "Competent" level of qualification, Tier 4 is considered "Rock Star" level of qualification. Responsibilities: Culture / Team fit. Solid understanding of layers 1-4. Physical layer: Understand and isolate fiber optic | fiber | hardware. Understand ESD best practices. solid understanding of Ipv[46] sub-netting, addressing and SLAAC configurations . JNCIA/CCNA level of knowledge required. Solid understanding of BGP, OSPF, routing ACL's, static routing, route maps and firewall port issues. 5+ Network diagnostic troubleshooting experience. Ability to build and updated hardware templates. Solid understanding of Spanning Tree, LAG. Demonstrated ability in JUNOS/IOS through configuration and new deployments Familiarity with the Linux based systems and experience with scripting and automation (Bash | Python Able to work and support the global team. Ability to identify and provide suggestion/feedback for network automation. Experience managing vendor teams. Carry out other technical related duties that may be essential to the position. Great organization, multitasking and communication skills. Maintains network health for existing labs. The job requires significant time standing, walking, bending, and lifting. This is not a position for someone habitually located at a desk. Skills: The ideal candidate will have 5+ years' experience in network support for Tier 3, 7+ network support for Tier 4. Experience with Juniper Enterprise, Cisco, and Service Provider network hardware platforms and architectures, including data center switching platforms. Strong working knowledge of routing and switching technologies and protocols. Demonstrated ability to analyze complex situations and utilize troubleshooting skills, systems, tools, and creative problem solving abilities under pressure. A A Schedule and perform network maintenance, repair, and upgrade tasks as needed while minimizing the impact on the production network R R Use internal automation software, tools, and scripts to configure, monitor, and repair network equipment.
