Job Title: Junior Data Analytics

Job Summary:

As a Junior Data Analytics professional at Midwestern IT, you will be responsible for assisting in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data to drive actionable insights for our organization. You will work closely with senior data analysts, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to support data-related projects and contribute to data-driven strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Collection and Analysis:

Collect, clean, and organize data from various sources, including databases, spreadsheets, and external datasets.

Analyse data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.

Reporting and Visualization:

Create and maintain reports and visualizations using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Excel).

Develop dashboards to present data insights to stakeholders.

Data Interpretation:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and help translate them into data analysis goals.

Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis.

Data Quality Assurance:

Assist in data quality checks and validation to ensure accuracy and consistency of data.

Documentation:

Maintain documentation of data sources, data transformations, and analysis methods.

Collaboration and Communication:

Collaborate with senior data analysts, IT, and business stakeholders to align data initiatives with business needs.

Communicate findings and insights to non-technical stakeholders effectively.

Continual Learning:

Stay current with industry trends and data analytics best practices.

Seek opportunities to expand your knowledge and skillset in data analytics.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, including Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools.

Basic understanding of statistical concepts.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Detail-oriented with a strong focus on data quality.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R.

Knowledge of machine learning and predictive analytics.

Previous internship or work experience in a data analytics or related role is a plus.
