This is truly a Junior level position. The manager is simply asking for someone who is hungry to learn, has a good attitude, and has some knowledge of the skills listed below. He does not want anyone with a lot of experience (no more than 5 years of experience) Help with deploying switches in SD-WAN in the field Experience with switch configuration Able to learn the network and in a timely manner Need solid Cisco knowledge of routers; but mainly switches Need someone with experience working in a NOC Responsible for replacing every switch, router, and any network connections for all the branch locations which are located throughout the US and Canada. Will help support the field technicians remotely and test the switches Will be replacing routers with SD-WAN devices Must help coordinate new circuit and hardware delivery and configuration Switch SD-WAN from shipment to branch Candidate will work with more experienced Engineers to help him/her learn Must be able to learn the network, job responsibilities, and continue progressing in knowledge and skills you are being taught. There is a promising career path and the company provides numerous opportunities for advancement such as moving into network security, architecture, and/or Data Center Engineering The Jr. Network Engineer will be working remote until at least January 2021. Then, once the building is deemed safe to open, the new schedule will be to work 3 days onsite and then 2 days remote Manager will also look at non-local candidates but HIGHLY prefers local Job Description & Key Responsibilities: Perform analytical, technical, and administrative work around all Branch network components including: Installation, management, and support of LAN switches, WiFi access points, routers, and SD-WAN infrastructure. Installation, management, and support of WAN Technologies include Cisco Switches, Cisco Routers, and SD-WAN Provide Level 1 Support for other technologies using the network including, but not limited to: printers, voice, handheld scanners, tablets, and security devices. Provide Level 1 Support for Network Operation Center (NOC) as needed to resolve network-based issues. Monitor and Evaluate hardware/software for network systems and help with planning/deployment of future standards based on company decisions. Participate in on-call schedule one time a month Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of 1-2 years network engineering and support Minimum of 1-2 years technical experience with large scale IP networks Minimum of 1-2 years' experience with firewalls Cisco switches/routers Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of the following subject areas: routing and switching Scans, configuring, scheduling, interpreting; network troubleshooting Experience using Velocloud SD-WAN equipment Any SD-WAN experience is a huge plus Shawn Wood
